I brought one of those a while ago myself, haven't used it yet, just sitting with the other bike bits I accumulate.  I've also got a vac bleeder & a air system.  The air one works better than the vac one, used it on the Merc with good results & efficiency.  On the bikes I just usually pump the lever, it's such a small system after all.

Have used a big syringe and some clear hose, then pulled it through from the caliper nipple. Found it sucked a bit of air from around the nipple but it did the job. Will get some better quality silicone hose before I do it this time.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I just remove the bleed nipples fully, top up the res & wander off for 5-10mins. Give gravity chance to do it's thing. You'll come back to fluid oozing from the calipers & then just bleed them as normal.

might try one of those as well...cheers Grog
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

yep, system too small for a vac bleeder imo, plus i like to feel the lever and see when the res gets low, reckon it would happen too fast on a vac bleed.

tried that too, too much air from the nipple thread, but its still a fast way to clean out the system

...and weed the driveway perhaps?

On the Beemer, the clutch runs a mineral hydraulic oil, its so thin you can do the gravity bleed so easy

They aren't weeds, it's a small wildlife refuge.

Mr Gee

What we call flowers, are only weeds from other countries.

While what we call weeds are simply, our own natural flowers.

Quote from: grog on Monday, 23 February  2026, 04:22 PMMr gee, these little testers are to test reader/antenna.Videos on you tube about them.

So, they do work on the K5 but don't bother, they are a waste of time.  :bugga:

Only does exactly, the same job, as the little red light that is on the antenna anyway.  :bugga:

not to worry, only £5 wasted, worth a try.  :onya:

I used one of them to bleed the brakes on my ZZR1200, it worked fine though took a while to get the fluid flowing to begin with ... lots of little squeezes on the levers.

I've always found those one-way valves a pain, even on cars. Could just be me though.

Just wondering if worth the effort, oil change time, dropping line off oil cooler, how much extra drains??
