What gets me in all this fuel pricing palaver is that the fuel we are buying has been in storage and transit for 3-4 weeks, so well before the attack started, so it was bought at normal prices, so why is it that we have to pay the current high prices? There should be a delay in price increases when the new stocks start to flow through.

By the same token, I think it will be unlikely that prices will drop to pre-offensive prices, the big fuel co's will find another excuse to keep the users paying high prices and their share prices high.

At least here in Oz the ACCC is keeping a close watch on the distributors and retailers to try to limit price gouging.

In my view, the whole petrochemical industry is one big cartel, and with the government having a vested interest in the excises and taxes they receive from all the fuel, its actually not in their interest to have the prices reduce, so they just pay lip service to appease the public.

Ironically, Australia exports enough quality light sweet crude and condensate that if converted locally would produce enough diesel and petrol to supply the entire nation, and we'd be relatively immune to this sh£%e, and I think the UK would be in a similar situation.

Rant over...

I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Yeah Eric, one huge rort. Oz buys most diesel from Sth Korea, pump price today over $3 here p/litre, pump price in Korea is $1.83. We export lpg for around 55cents, buying here is around $1. They sure look after us☹️

Mick_J

Petrol has gone up around 1p every day since the yanks started this shit, some garages are having a laugh at our expense, bastards.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

We are all being milked. Fuel we are currently using will have been bought by the fuel companies at the old price. The art of price gouging has certainly been refined.

Sand must make people go mad and the sand dwellers love killing each other, but not as much as killing Westerners. I don't see a quick solution to  this mess.
Let's not forget there's big money to be made by those selling the means with which to wage war. How can destruction and killing solve anything.
So pleased we live down under.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Hooli

Well we all know the answer to fuel shortages down under...
