That bike looks like it means business Spongebob.  I had a DID 525 gold link on the B/W, it's def a lighter chain, never an issue with it though.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Quote from: SpongeBob on Thursday, 02 April  2026, 02:14 AMAlmost regular Spring maintenance: oil and filter change, new tyres, new chain... so nothing special or exciting, except the latter changed with something I wanted to try for some time: significantly lighter 525 chain instead of 530, together with 'light' front sprocket.
High end DID ZVMX2 525 chain is labeled suitable for Hayabusas, so I guess we are good to go :-)

Did a first short-ish road test between two episodes of bad weather, and I can say it is up to expectations -- although the rear tyre seems less happy with it :-D

Are those YSS shocks?  If so, how do you rate them. Been thinking about fitting some, as my OEM's are a bit tired and I can't afford Ohlins.

That bike looks more like a race bike than a GSX I think Teufel Peter could compare.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

No, these are high-end HyperPro ones, that sport separate high-speed, low speed compression damping, and rebound damping hydaulic settings. A bit expensive, I believe, and I'm sure quite close to Öhlins prices :-(

Thanks Mr King. That looks awesome.  I wonder if he likes my rear sets. I'm so happy I found them, and proud. No one else seems to appreciate. Hope you are well.

There is not - unfortunately - that much choice for "race" rear sets for the '14. I've chosen mine mainly because they seem to be the only available ones offering reverse shift pattern. Fixed, non foldable, no rubber footpegs is a must and I would have loved them slightly higher as yours seem to be, @Teufel. I would have also prefered a lower maintenance ball-bearing mmounted lever. Finally, I'm quite happy with the (foldable) knurled toe peg (same one the brake side), which I sourced from a different rearset kit manufacturer from Italy :-)
@Teufel, your reasets look great; What brand are they? Would they offer a reverse shift pattern shift lever option, by any chance? BTW, I like, too, the seemingly slightly ground side stand ;-)

Thanks. Have you seen these? I don't they're any real improvement on the coerce, but they're quite sexy.

I just got lucky. I saw mine on Gumtree for $45. I didn't believe they would fit, but thought it was worth the risk that price. Lucky me.
They are from Team Mettisse (https://www.metisse.de/)
I have a set of coerce, but these are a an improvement if you like the more aggressive seating position.
Finally, do you live in Valence?
I imagine it would be great riding with alps and the South coast not so far away.

$45 Mate, kicked a goal that day, what would retail be, im guessing over 500?

Today removed clutch and brake lever. Every part layed out on bench, cleaned with brake cleaner and microfibre cloth. Both master cylinders got a good clean. All moving parts cleaned,  ptfe sprayed, levers copped autosol treatment.Look so shiny. Happy with results.

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Today, rag, brake cleaner, ptfe spray all in hand. Anything that moves, cleaned and relubed, sidestand, centrestand, sidestand switch, seat lock, f&r brake light switches. tank lock. Ignition switch, brake cleaner, comp air, ptfe. Tomorrow is clean/lube chain, good old VMX, not much else to do, just ride. I always feel its a nicer bike after the care stuff is done.  :)

did you end up having to bleed the systems again or was this all external cleaning?  I know it takes a long time to get absolutely all the air out of the system, so Id be surprised if you'd taken it to the extreme and drained both clutch and brake systems.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Mr Gee

Yet another go, at searching for that infernal intermittent fault.  :confused1:   :whatever:

Hooli

Errm, for a change I rode it somewhere

grog

Eric, just external bits, fluids are good.
