Where did you ride today?

lurch

I've been on adventure rides with a guy on an Africa Twin who's wheelchair bound. He designed and built his own stabilising wheels that lower below a certain speed and the DCT with shift buttons takes care of gear changes. Where there's a will there's a way

Regarding quickshifters, I've only ever used them at trackdays. Where you're definitely using much more throttle movement. Along with traction control and ABS you get to go much harder and faster than I would ever ride on the street.

The H2 and Gen-3 both have 2-way quickshifters, sadly it's very hard to retro fit a down shifter without fly by wire.  Busa's have a quite long turn throttles for a sporty bike, why R1 and R6 throttle tubes are popular.

They really aren't necessary on the road, but they are a bit of fun. Being able to shift up without touching the clutch or shutting off really is noticeably quicker, but not something you can do without eventually getting into trouble.

Like the 2-step launch control, sitting at the lights holding full throttle and the revs sit at 4, 6 or 8000 untill you drop the clutch... Yeah, it's funny occasionally but pretty useless really for a clumsy old bloke plodding off for his breakfast! ...

Adjustable engine braking ? Multiple anti-wheelie settings ? Lean angle displays ? 6-axis IMU ? Multi option dash ? K's per ltr display ? Breaking hard enough to trigger the hazard lights ?
Most of it is just silly toys. My Gen-2 has none of it, just like my GSX1400 not even ABS.  It's just as much fun.

It's still a laugh playing with it and I don't really need to love or hate it.

Towards Cooyar, across to Maclagan, to Bun, then Bell to get a coffee this morning. I'd have loved to have carried on further but I needed to be home by mid day to meet a tradie for a quote.

Still another 229K's / 142 miles.

Still wet, miserable and very cold here.

Moaning sod, I took my Snotbox to work yesterday & once off the white roads covered in solid frost it wasn't too bad  :whistling:

I took Snotbox to the pub tonight too, much warmer but quite misty so interesting in a few places.

I've just been sat outside at the pub with a cold drink and some surprisingly nice Bangers and Mash. Pub was a bit rough and ready, but in a nice country way.
Another dry, sunny, 32 degrees day.

Have a guess how much I miss Worcestershire ?

37deg here today, actually too warm to ride.  Took the bike for a spin the other night to the gym and back, I think I sweated more on the way there and back than on the treadmill and weight bench...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Our early Saturday morning crew headed to Kenilworth today via Mt.Mee and Woodford. A similar route home but via Obi Obi and Mapleton.
It was bloody hot and humid all day long without any relief.
I'm sitting on the couch in the A/C trying to rehydrate with just water until dinner time. Thunderstorms brewing all around and we're crossing our fingers for a decent drop of rain to change the grass from crunchy too green.

This morning I had an Afogato (coffee and ice cream). My learned Italian friend said, that's a dessert. I said life's too short Elio, eat dessert first, even at breakfast.

No no no, you eat desert last, just because you are upside down you shouldn't let your standards drop.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

I took Snotbox down Lincolnshire today, 150 mile in light rain & fog later on. Lovely day for a ride

I was visiting East Kirkby to do a restoration tour of Just Jane, the Lancaster they've got there. It was a damn interesting couple of hours hearing all about what they're doing on the long journey back to flight.

I didn't take many pics, but here they are.

Annoyingly a few pics I did take have vanished too, I think my phone is senile.
