Forget convention, you should do what makes happy, we are only here for a short time  :boogie:

Don't get caught trying to shag a mountain goat then.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Was a beauty day here on the coast today, went for a run down to Punakaiki, lovely twisty roads, stopped for a pint at the Tavern then headed back home.  Course it wouldn't be right to ride past my local, so stopped there for another quencher as well.

Quote from: Hooli on Sunday, 18 January  2026, 04:14 AMI took Snotbox down Lincolnshire today, 150 mile in light rain & fog later on. Lovely day for a ride

I was visiting East Kirkby to do a restoration tour of Just Jane, the Lancaster they've got there. It was a damn interesting couple of hours hearing all about what they're doing on the long journey back to flight.

I didn't take many pics, but here they are.

I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Quote from: GSXKING on Saturday, 17 January  2026, 05:44 PMOur early Saturday morning crew headed to Kenilworth today via Mt.Mee and Woodford. A similar route home but via Obi Obi and Mapleton.
It was bloody hot and humid all day long without any relief.
I'm sitting on the couch in the A/C trying to rehydrate with just water until dinner time. Thunderstorms brewing all around and we're crossing our fingers for a decent drop of rain to change the grass from crunchy too green.

This morning I had an Afogato (coffee and ice cream). My learned Italian friend said, that's a dessert. I said life's too short Elio, eat dessert first, even at breakfast.

Just came back from Obi. Usually I just walk over there, but this morning went by car with my best buddy. Was great fun BS'ed the entire time. Food? I have no idea if it's tasty there or what the prices were. If you want to know, I can ask my buddy. Aussume it tastes like shite and is way overpriced (as that's the way  usually everywhere). I stuck to a take-out of wood. Can't say anything about how it tastes. Certainly overprized; ask my buddy as he paid and otherwise stayed out of my way. He knows to better stay out of my way as it get's expensive for him. Health insurance has been declining to pay for anything related to him getting in my way.

Overall, it was a terrific outing. All clear, sunny and dry. Lovely! Didn't have to sit on the couch (nope, I don't have a couch - if I had, I would schedule a pickup by our waste department) and rehydrate. A black cup or 2 of hot coffee are more appropriate. Temperatures around freezing this morning.

Maybe we'll meet next time at Obi :)

I bought my first Trangia about 1979, brought it here to Oz years ago about 1986, bought another in UK to save me carting it back and forward, fanastic bit of gear, if I remember rightly they where invented in Sweden or neighbouring country.

How do you like your enemy receiving 160  50 cal. rounds a second.

If you like stuff like that, I highly recommend "Unauthorized History of the Pacific War Podcast". On the above you may want to watch: Commerce Destruction-The Battle of the Bismarck Sea with Jon Parshall-Episode 207
