No kids, multiple bikes and a wife who rides as well. It's paid for itself many times over now.

 I also do quite a bit of mechanical work for mates when I'm home which saves them a few $ so they can ride with me more.

That's the correct way to live. No idea why anyone wants to ruin their life with kids, I can't imagine a bigger mistake to make in life than breeding.

I know more girls who ride them than blokes these days, at least I think I do, so girl's bike.

Besides, it annoys the blokes who think they look big & macho by saying they ride a big bike

When I had my GSX1100 my wife used to ride it as well and some of the local bikers were not happy that a girl had a bigger and faster bike than them.

Think one of the highest mileage 14 was a girl owner. She raced it, had sidecar once, well over 300 th ks when i heard of her.That was a while ago, no idea if she still has it.

Well, today I gave the ole B/W a bit of attention (not too much else it'll expect it all the time) It got an oil change, air filter removed / washed & re-oiled, chain cleaned & oiled & drained the engine breather tube under the sump.  Had a teaspoon of clean oil in it.
Thought about riding it but we're still wet with thunder storms & rain, nah, not going out in that.  Been like it for a week or more & there's another week to come by all accounts. River is in flood & sea is shite, so can't go fishing either.  Did the wee bit of maintenance then went to the pub for an ale or 2.  roll on summer.

Do you use the genuine oil for it? I've been told DuckOil is just as good & will need to pick which to use on my HD at some point.

Yep, I brought the K&N service pack (think that's what it's called) years ago. Has a spray that loosens the debris & old oil, leave it for 10-20 min then wash it clean with the hose on spray. Takes a while to get all the degreaser out of it. Says to let dry naturally, but I assist it with some low pressure air from the compressor.  Use the K & N aerosol spray over the dried pleats & she's a good 'un again.
From memory the service pack was expensive, but it's lasted & will probably see me out.
