Was it in the dishwasher?

Bike is coming along mate, looks good.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Close...

I got a load of cheap washing up bowls & used them as boxes for bits. They're oil proof & bigger parts fit in still.

A bit of wet weather put a stop to a planned two day camp out adv ride on my Husky 701, so I managed to spend part of my Sunday in the shed working on the 1400.

Replaced the clutch slave cylinder with a new genuine item + Hayabusa dust seal and HEL braided line, installed a GIPro ATRE gear indicator, new front wheel bearings + seals and tidied up some wiring in preparation to replace the abomination a previous owner created when installing indicators.

The forks were outsourced to a suspension shop a while back and are due any day. Once they're back I'll reposition it on my lift so the swingarm can come out for a tidy up and new bearings.

I said 'ello to my 14 when I rolled the HD out to wash (it's not been done since July), then rolled it back it & put it on the opimate for a bit. Oh & finally found the bag of old curtains I knew was about so it's now got 'recycled dust sheets' over it as my garage is really not clean or dust free.

Still bored of bikes really & particularly the HD. If I do go out I take the 14 but even that hasn't done much recently.

Not a very exciting update sorry.

I did Friday evening, trying to find a dark spot not already full of cars to see the northern lights. First time in ages used the gears on the autobox & feck me it responds instantly the throttle & steers from the rear if you do. Found I was going way too fast for little single track roads as she danced about over the bumps.

I did enjoy it, didn't see much of the lights though. I seem to be the only one who didn't.

Think I forgot to tell you lot, last weekend I did go out on the 14 with two mates and enjoyed myself. One on her 14 & her dad on his Triumph. I was told we're not rushing about & speeding everywhere etc etc - yeah that worked till she was leading & kept upping the speed till I was riding pretty hard to stay with her, why does everyone else look smoother than you feel when getting a shufty on?

Anyway, proved my 14 is still healthy despite it's low miles. Between 40mph & 140mph out of a roundabout (on a private road, cough) mine's about 3-4 bike lengths quicker as I got past her, must be cause she rides a black 'un. They both sounded damn good at the top end of 4th though & her's is louder with a great deep note from twin cans.

I bobbed out for brekky on my 14. Found my heated jacket kept cutting out, so took a look when I got home. The flylead that comes from the bike to me has an internal break. Put a meter on it & move the socket up & down, the power cuts in & out....
As I've got/had a spare lead from the previous heated waistcoat I fitted that & sorted the problem. Not quite as easy as just put it on the battery because I've got a relayed switched aux power supply wired in for accessories. So I cut the end off both & joined them under the side panel to save disturbing all the wiring.
I'll order a new lead as a spare now cause I know if or when it goes again it'll be at a point I don't have time to wait for an order to arrive.

Today after gear lever bushes recent post, took mine off for a look, cleaned out old grease, re lubed. Ive now decided theres still a tiny bit of end float, local bolt shop sells 12x20mm washers in 1 mm thickness, my next purchase.

Still waiting on those bearing things (might be there today, I'm in the office so don't know). Hoping to do mine at the weekend.
