I could, but they work fine with the right tools.

I would have kept the nuts and gotten rid of the tractor they're bolted to...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

I know mate, I've got a Sport Glide myself.

This one was so tight you could play tunes on it though.

I was forgetting you had a tractor in the garage.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

For me today, passed the 50.000km marker; she stills looks new!

Sportster update, I forgot to take pics of anything so tuff...

Brake lights fixed, Filthy contacts on the switch was causing it to throw an error code & keep the lights on. Good old CANBUS!
Neutral light fixed, filthy loose contacts. Explains why it worked when cold as the Hornet was the same when that played up. I was wrong about it's position though, that's the speed sensor on top of the gearbox. The neutral switch is just behind the front pulley - all the guides say take the pulley off access it. You would have to change the switch but you can just about wriggle the connector off & back on without doing so, it almost fell of when touched anyway. The bullet connector 10" up the loom was no better either.
The indicator repeater on the dash is dead though. I found out to get them out & inspected the tiny surface mount LEDs with a strong eye glass, the damn LED is half full of liquid! That'd explain that then. The lit of loom that includes the LEDs is £55 & HD only, so I've given her the good news tonight, No way I'd try to change the LED, it's about 2x3mm or something daft.
It's about halfway back together, tank is still off as the bolts to remove the speedo are the bar clamp so I left it off rather than risk the paint.

Plot twist.

I knew Atard was a maintenance techy in a factory but I didn't know what it involved. Apparently she does surface mount soldering etc so has taken the faulty bit to work to see if she can get a LED to fix it.

Today's update - if you use the wrong soldering tip as it's all that's left you melt the board & other bits fall off....

The part has been ordered from HD, 7-10days they reckon.

Today has been a bit  ???

I unexpectedly got a message this evening "can you come with me & look at a bike?" so off I went to Holmfirth with Tardkins. She'd been saying occasionally she wanted to get a different bike as the Sporty wasn't quick enough or comfy enough for the sort of rideouts our group does.

Well, I had a good look at the bike she liked, couldn't find a fault except for a weeping fork seal the dealer mentioned & said they'll sort. So looks like this week she's getting something you lot will like delivered....

I think it's the first K4 R/B I've seen in the flesh.

I'm damn sure these 14s are girls bikes, that's yet another one I know of know  :stir:

I've made mine explode a little. After racking up it's first 1000km in my ownership I decided some maintenance, minor modifications, suspension upgrades and a wet blast/polish/paint of the wheels were in order. Unfortunately it'll be a month or more before it's all back together with some fresh rubber, and I never remember to take pics along the way, but I must remember to add a post to the members rides area with the details when done.

No kids, multiple bikes and a wife who rides as well. It's paid for itself many times over now.

I also do quite a bit of mechanical work for mates when I'm home which saves them a few $ so they can ride with me more.
