160K's, 99 miles this morning in search of a bacon and egg roll.

Your second ride in 2026. Haven't had the bikes out, at all, in 2026.  Snow and ice just, about everywhere.

Roll on the end of February, might get some warmer, dryer weather

There's been a heap of bikes out here over Xmas. The temps have been mostly nice, 17 to 25 C today. There's a bit of rain around but none on my rides and only a few mm at home. I'm still watering the new garden.

I don't ride much on weekends or holidays, but folk are heading back to work today so I'll start and get a few rides in.

I intend to ride more this year but every time I look at a bike it needs tyres, a service, brake pads, or something that involves time and money. 2 dealer services (Gen-3 and DRZ) tyres (B-King and Gen-3) brakes, oil and filter, airfilter etc (B-King) chain and sprockets (DRZ) and more.  I have a builder starting here soon and the funds and bills don't balance !!

My 3 obsessions so far this year...
Motorbike rides...... 2
Parkruns... 2
Planting trees...... 1

That Bridge is actually slightly lower than the lowest one I know. Shoreham airport has one 10cm higher.

Haven't been there recently but there was a 1.9m one near where I lived over bayside.

At 2.03m that would prove a bit difficult.

I might just move around like a Sims character hitting an obstacle  :boogie2:

You're not making me jealous, at all.    :bugga:

I love being wet and cold. Makes me feel, like I earned my ride.  :rofl2:  :happy1:

One of those two lines, is a lie but can you guess which one.

I'm finding I ache more and feel less comfortable as the years go by.

I've convinced myself (and more importantly my wife) that it's because I'm not ride-fit and my body isn't used to being on the bike now.  Obviously riding more will be beneficial.

So I have to ride for medical reasons...  :whistling:

I'm feeling very penned in at the moment and am itching for a ride.

The UK weather is not being kind at the moment though (snow and ice) and I'm not brave enough.

The back end of last year wasn't very productive either, rain seemed a constant problem. There were a couple of trips on the GTR and GSX out toward the Welsh borders, but these suffered forced detours down some dodgy farm lanes due to flooding in the likes of Leintwardine and Clun.

It's bound to get better soon though.

Wasn't too bad here yesterday so I got out for a few miles around Somerset, riding through Weston some little L plater kept undertaking me to get up close to the car that was in front, I breezed around them only to find the little tit did it again at the next car, he gave himself no escape route had thigs gone wrong, I hope he learns before it's too late.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Out with the bride today. Went to the Suzuki shop in Whakatane first up. Then over the hill for lunch in Ohope before a look round the surf beach then the inner harbour.
Back to Whakatane for a cold drink in the shade, 27°C there today, popped into the Honda shop and threw my leg over a shop demo Transalp. I need to find my old platform shoes if I'm to ride an adventure bike. Management thought it was a bit high....she could see over my head. Anyway I'm only window shopping, Might sit on the Africa Twin as the fella said the seat is adjustable. I'm just sniffing around as we'd like to explore gravel roads, something I'm not comfortable with on the 14.
Anyway we had a great day out motorcycling finally getting home 240kms later....still with time to cool off in the pool.
The only ice I saw today was in my bourbon  :hat:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
