MOT guys here are independent  from stealership. They only do testing. No extra stealing beside the fees on their part possible. If they find faults they don't care where you get it fixed. Some have their own places but others go to the stealerships and do testing there. Stealerships like that as that lures customers in who have their vehicles looked over before MOT. That's when they offer you "free" coffee. The MOT guys like the free coffee at the stealers too. Basically they let their work done by the stealers as they trust them that everything on the vehicle has been done that needs to be done (and more). With a "good conscience" they sign off the lot presented to them by the stealers, drink the delicious coffee and are off again with their fees in a few minutes.

If you have illegal mods it may pay to have MOT done at the stealership because many "don't see" those while looking for money on your vehicle.

Irish in Oz

MOT in N.Ireland is done by the Government, my mate works there and I can't get past him, actually he refuses to do my vehicles.

Got my insurance renewal the other day for the 14
Last year paid €554.

Even though an Extra year NCB, so 5 years and got my full licence last year.
F**k
Unfortunately I'm stuck with this company as I got hit off my bike a few years ago and claim still open.
Anyway rang today and got it down to €465.
Still high but it's €100 more into me pocket.

The initial attraction to motorcycling inflicts people for various reasons and at different stages in their lives. But once someone experiences the elation of riding a motorcycle there's no denying the nearly spiritual effect it has.

Filled car up with petrol.

Just being curious, what was the price per unit and what grade fuel.

I filled my mates Hardley last night. $1.859 for a litre of 98.

On this side of the ditch, in CHCH, todays prices are: $2.579 - $2.249 for 98+ Octane,   $ 2.499 - $2.119 for 95 octane &    $2.189 - $2.029 for 91.   Varies a bit & you have to shop around.

Geez, with prices like that, guess you'd be baulking at paying $2.50 a litre,    what we get sometimes.

UK fuel prices would be similar to NZ, however compared to where I live in Oz I use less fuel here as everything for general everyday living is closer.
