Grog.. that is one hell of a burger!  Heart attack on a stick  :rofl2:

I'm a regular at Ricks.  Not too fussed about the bikes, too many Hardley Dangerous's but you get some great Hot Rods, Rat Rods and big muscle cars up there.

Yeah, foods not bad though.

Tony, ill be there tomorrow. i dis regard the bloody hardlys, sucjh a pest on sunny coast. saw a ducati parked at aussie world, 60 hardly riders just inside having breakfast. big old hardly decided to be trick of party, pissed on the ducati. his mates clapping, cheering. ducati rider showed up bruce lee i think his name. not one came from inside to help, end result, mulch at aussie world is part hardly rider, blood n bone i think they call it. i watched that whole episode.

Hooli

I got a bloody speeding ticket in the post. 60 in a 40 is their claim, which I know is a lie as I'm careful on that road because they are always out with a hairdryer. No way to prove their lying of course & it's above the 3pt limit so a reaming at court is likely.

Rather annoyed about it all really. There are plenty of places I do speed by 50% of the limit & would accept it, but not there & for good reason. Seems the dishonest scum are still up to their usual games though. Funny how they stand by a road all day & never catch the dangerous & careless morons out there who cause all the accidents though.

It might be worth fighting it as they always fall down on thier methods and record keeping and when challenged 95%of the prosecutions fail with the right lawyer in your corner.

I'm looking into it, but last time I tried to fight them they just lied in court & got away with it.

Then they wonder why the public don't respect them.

Kiwifruit

Hooli bad luck there. Are some tickets issued by independent operators or all by Police?
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Hooli

It's plod directly kiwifruit. If you're not much over the limit they might offer a speed awareness course (sit in a room & get idiots talk bollocks at you) which is run by a private company.

I've been on pepipoo.com which is a brilliant forum for UK road law & they think it'll be a fixed penalty as it's below 65mph. That's not the guidelines I'm finding elsewhere, but fingers crossed they are correct. They've helped me get off a parking ticket years ago when 2" of my car overhung a yellow line so I trust their advice.

Hooli... are you not entitled to see the evidence?  I assume it was a mobile camera?

Not yet.

The way it works over here is you get a S172 notice where you as the owner of the car/bike has to name who was driving. Then the driver is charged with speeding & the evidence can been seen, oddly they refuse to send you any pics to help work out who was driving at the time.

Hooli

On the brightside I've just found the official guidelines here https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/road-traffic-offences-guidance-fixed-penalty-notices and it is 'just' 3pts & £100 fine. I'll take that, it's annoying as it wasn't unsafe but I might well have been slightly over the limit. Still annoying they've lied about the speed I was doing though.

For those unfortunate enough to not be British, we start with clean licences & if we 'earn' 12 points we lose it (except in 'extreme hardship' cases). Points count for 3 years.

Currently I've got a clean licence & have done for about 7 years since the last points I got on the bike fell off.

ARH

So you need to 'admit' it was you first..... same as here if it's potential court case... but then you have the right to challenge the evidence, including asking to see the calibration records for the equipment used.  Having said that the courts look pretty dimly on folk that do that if found 'guilty' ... increasing the penalty as a consequence.  Happened to a work colleague caught doing 95kmh in a 70 zone.   They offered him a fixed penalty of 300 euros which he turned down and challenged the case.  He lost... fined 500euro and lost his license for a month!

Hooli

Pretty much but it's 6pts & £1,000 fine if you don't name the driver so they've got you both ways.

seth

3 points on a clean licence is ok but will affect all your insurances for the next 5 years .
I used
https://www.roadtrafficexpert.com
They cover Scottish law which is different but they have colleges in England who do the same job there.
I was court twice by hidden in bushes camera vans they tried to say it was dangerous driving at 20mph over the limit it would have been 10mph over but I was in a van  on wide open well viewed country roads over 3 years .
They couldn't produce the correct evidence or enough witnesses the first time so it got thrown out at the trial .the second time they couldn't provide anything at the pre trial and it never made the trial.
I won't make excuses as I was just over the limit and if offered 3 point I might not have even fort them but I had 3 point so would have cost me my job and I couldn't have lost it because the police wanted me the pleed guilty by post .
They need to full prove you guilty so if it makes that much difference it's always worth challenging the evidence .
