@Phill P your bike looks incredibly clean  :hat: it looks brand new 🙏
I personally dislike the crash bars both in looks and almost admitting your going to crash.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

FWIW, I think they look good on the bike, shiny black matches the frame.

Personally, I don't look at it as if I'm going to crash, (BTW I've not got nor ever had crash bars) but we all know, shite happens even when you do everything right.  The crash bars in that instance will probably save the engine from catastrophic damage and possibly even allow it to be ridden home.

I'm sure you'll recall Rogues Chris, I remember he had an off & the crash bungs took the brunt but the timing cover was still opened like a can of worms. He was able ride home after that, slowly, but without crash bungs, would have been a different story.

Rogues is a member here, but we never see him. Lives in the shadow of the Oxley ya know . . .  :onya:
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

I understand crashbars are not to everyone's taste and are a personal thing, but thank you for your kind comments
Thankfully we all like different things, and I like a modded GSX1400

lurch

Finally got my act together and knocked over the valve clearances on my 990 Adventure. First time they've been done and the exhausts were actually a little too far on the loose side, which is apparently common - must have been that way from factory. Couldn't help myself so now they're back in spec. I've got a week off in April and am hoping I'll have it on the road by then.

Need to get it off the lift so I can get into the XS650. There's a freshly rebuilt lump that's now 750cc with a Shell cam looking for somewhere to live.

Quote from: GSXKING on Sunday, 15 February  2026, 05:47 PMIs that a kick starter on the twin cylinder ?
Yep. The electric start was an afterthought on them and often performs as such. This one will be either a cafe racer or street tracker style and the electric start will be completely removed. It was a poorly built unfinished cafe racer when I bought it

Lurch, back in 1975, I'd owned 3 gt750 Suzuki, Honda 750, XS650 B Yamaha. Kawa 900 was the king no doubt. Kawa 2 strokes also amazing but not fuel friendly. XS650, could flog Honda and Suzuki, that's with stock exhaust, fit  2 into 1, top speed of 115 mph but sounded crap. Think I did around 80 th ks on it, nothing stuffed up. I never dropped it, bloke bought it, fell off first day☹️

This was mine back in the day. I also put a 750 Kit in it that included cams and carbs upgraded.

I think they look like a kiddy's climbing frame & I'm sure they touch down before the pegs, so they were the first thing to come off my Mk2. I must put them on ebay for someone who needs a climbing frame tbh.

:clapping: Then fortunately it's not your bike , if they are touching down then I'm on the wrong bike and a GSX-R1000 would more appropriate

If I was on a GSXR anything I'd stay home
Can't stand spurts bikes & my right arm always goes numb in minds of riding on clip-ons which makes life even more fun as I can't even tell if I'm holding the brake until the bike slows.

Anyone know where we can still find PC3USB maps for our bikes?
I've just looked on the Dynojet website & they appear to have been taken down. I've got a load saved but they are earlier ones for PC3 Serial so different.

Hooli

I'll respond to myself here...

Why yes, I do!

I've emailed Dynojet asking if the maps are still available and they sent me all the ones they used to offer for download as a zip file. I've just uploaded it to our Downloads>General section.
The files aren't named for the mods they relate too, so you'll have to open them with the PC3 software & check the description to find the one nearest to what you need.

I've also pulled down all the software, guides etc in case they get removed & I'll sort & upload them in sensible groups soon.

Dwain Dibley

I doubt if I will ever use it, but let me be the first to say well done, as i'm sure it is a valuable resource and will definitely be useful for a lot of people with more tech knowledge than me. Nice one Hooli.
