Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Just about every Thursday a few of us mates meet up at Pickering Brook in the hills of Perth WA

There can be any number from 100 to less that rock up for breakfast / coffee or just a show, look & chat. Some beautiful mix of bikes. Just a few here

Which your choice Irish? Have owned most in pics, unfortunately no Vincent. Mongrel hard to get on with, chews fuel, doesnt stop, doesnt handle, blows clouds, tiny powerband, would love that H1 in my shed. I didnt have early model but did 1972. Chambers, ported, 550 Suzi pistons, crazy bike. 1500 rpm powerband, over rev and blew flames out exhaust. My Mate rode it, reckoned i tried to kill him.

Another 124K's round trip for my morning coffee, totals up to 630K's now. Found 2 new dirt roads to cut out more bitumen.

The best engine swap.

A lot of engine swaps look a bit odd in Kats. The oilcooled  GSXR11's and Bandit 12's work really well but they are smaller / shorter in length lumps. Folk end up with gaps behind the motor with the sprocket further forward or need to extend the pipes at the head to clear the frame.

The 1135E is a great and popular replacement. A bigger cc engine, 36mm carbs, a few other differences. Not only does it fit and work well in a Kat but it's still the basis for the worlds fastest Pro-Stock bikes today. There's never been a better aircooled brute.

The engine came out of one of these..

The running gear looks like later GSXR750 same as my old GSXR1100 now has. The "Kat" parts are frame, fairing, tank and seat unit, the bits that really give it its identity whatever else you change.

I really like it.   I'd love one like that.

@Grog
I like the H1 as well. My old mate has all the 500's he just handed them over to his son that's his H2 in background.
I'm not into Z900 that much rode plenty of them, but I do have a Kawasaki 900 below.
Had a Katana got rid of it, but I like that one.

Nah, pretty much stuck to the speed limit, just the odd patch of exuberant throttle, it just needs to be done at times . . .

Had to road test the new jacket. Started with a quick 60km loop on the wife's little Scrambler. My back was feeling fine still when I got home so I decided to wheel the big girl out. Only 25km or so but that's the first time it's been out since mid-March. She ran like a top.
