I went down 15 mile Road and came back up White Mountain Rd, I think Coppermine Rd was closed.

I'd love to pick your brains about DR's and local routes.

I may head your direction later in the week for coffee and cake, or a pie. I'll give you a shout if I do and will do my best to bring the DR.

Hooli

Quote from: lurch on Sunday, 26 October  2025, 08:21 AMOnly 25km and on the wife's noisy red one, but it's my first ride 204 days post accident. A couple of slightly nervous moments over some sharp bumps that tested the wrist and spinal hardware. I'm still walking though so it must have been ok.

I'm on leave this week and hoping to get out at least every second day.

Are those things as fun as they look? they are the only Ducati I'd ever consider as they actually look & sound like a working bike. I suspect being Italian they'll fall apart if you attempt to ride them rather than pose outside coffee stops.

It's a hoot to ride. Light, sounds great and fast enough. Maybe not the best fit for a 192cm rider but I've done 4hrs in the saddle and it was comfortable enough for what it is.

The air cooled L twin has been around forever as you're no doubt aware and has proven to be reliable and easy to live with. This one's only done 11,000km as she's been working full time and studying but she'll be done with that early next year.

Definitely Italian to work on but tolerable. All the standard Italian features including bolts made of fancy cheese. Stock suspension was quite average but it's got Andreani cartridges in the forks and a YSS shock now which has been a massive improvement.

My Mate traded his 1100 Monster for Scrambler. Never really understood that. He then traded yellow scrambler for another with 54 on it. Pretty sure it was left to me in his will but strangely was never contacted about it.Someone got it.Makes it easier than looking after a keeper that i never wanted anyway.

18 today !

A Friday breakfast run out on the King. Registered and ridden home 18 years ago today.
A pretty low build number / VIN. The old girl still go's OK.

As part of the proposal put to management regarding the addition  of a more adventure orientated bike I just showed her the top photo of your shed Tony.... "how many arses does that fella have" was her response.
I think there's room for a little more fine tuning of my proposal
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Did a South, East, North, West ride down the range and back up again this morning. Only 270K / 168 miles but mostly fun roads.  I like different things about different bikes, but if I had to pick one it'd be this Gen-3.

Col, ask your wife how many pairs of knickers he has, if it's more than 2 (wear one, wash one) then she has no argument.  Works for me.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

GSXKING

Cafe Valletta in Toowoomba this morning for breakfast.
Met at Goodna 7:00am and took the highway to Helidon, then up Silver Pinch Road. Spectacular views today with low humidity and 25deg temperature. Home via Hampton and Esk then round the dam to MtG, uninterrupted run over to The Gap. City was in gridlock for whatever reason.
380kms door to door today.
GSXKING 3:^)

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Irish in Oz

Old Pacific Highway north of Sydney, fantastic 50-60 and 70kph zones.
Bike is running prefect after its 7.5 year storage even on 91 octane with 10% ethanol.
1000 k's since restart.
 :)

I remember when you left Oz & went to Ireland.  God was that 7.5 years ago?  Bloody hell, time just flies.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

It's only a hunch, but I suspect that once again a cafe cooking my breakfast and making my coffee from memory, without me placing an order may have a connection to the fact my jeans and bike leathers are getting a little bit snug around the waist !

Still trying to decide what to do with this one. It was bought to take to the drags, it's a little more aggressive than the Gen-3 but it's only a toy and I think I'd be happy with the 3 for the road and this one for the strip if I ever get a bike trailer. Having it gathering dust would be less on my mind if I wasn't paying rego etc.
