Well, I ended up putting a new 240/50 rear tire on mine. Everyone told me the wider tires are a bugger to fit up.  TBH it came off easy & went on easy, just as easy or easier than the 180 on the GSX.  Dunno what they're on about.
Balanced on the static balancer, happy enough where it's at. Going to do a bevel box oil change tomorrow, just cos it's up in the air & the wheel is off. Only uses 150ml, so the 2.5L pack I brought will probably see my days out . . .
Front is still reasonable, so will leave that for a few more thousand k's.

Just an FYI, the rear is the OEM one & it's done 11680k's when I changed it.  It could probably legally run a couple months before being right out, but she's pretty thin in the centre & makes you prone to punctures etc. Some parts are worn to the wear indicator other are not.  I like to know I've got good rubber, that way I'm ready for a trip when the fancy takes me & not worrying about tread depth.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Plus at "WARP" speed which you've been achieving lately, they're prone to delaminate when there is little coverage and the heat gets to the belts.   They look like a burst balloon, ask me how I know LOL.
I'm looking at a modern Rocket like yours here Col even second hand price seems expensive.
There's a plethora of BMW RT1250's for sale currently. I guess they're all trying to bankroll there new RT1300's. :stir:
I'm also considering a GOLD WING. However definitely not a new one.  :whistling:

My brother just brought a BMW S1000XR.  Now there's a feisty beast by all accounts.  170hp & top out at 270k's.  He said has a shift light in the centre of the dash that comes on at 12,000!   Not that he's seen it, said he hasn't been past 5000 revs yet.   There could be some fun this coming summer if the bro's manage a get together.
