Brings back some good memories seeing Amaroo Park. Was there in early 80's helping  mates on an XS1100 in the Castrol 6hr. Some teams were chilling their fuel to get more in. Well it pissed down and it was seriously cold. At the start I saw fuel tanks turned white covered in frost. It was a miserable day pissed down for the whole race.

A couple of trips there. Joe Eastmure most famous win , beat everyone on 315 Suzuki Rebel. He lives not far away, hosts rides regularly.Must do it.

What I saw today was some red & blue flashing lights doing a U turn after me!  Was in the Merc, just overtook a slow car & a cop busted me at 115k's.  Bit lucky really as I was doing 130 past the car & was slowing down to normal, speed 100k.  When he got out of the car it was my neighbour!  Felt a bit sorry for him to be in that position, he just said I'll get a ticket in the mail, said it'll be $30 & he'll put it down as exceeding 100k. Lucky I guess.

Heading towards the city on my Gen-3. A long straight that's well known spot for speeders. Not much traffic, a ute that was way behind me suddenly catches me up. I consider giving it a twist of the wrist but think "not here". Tap the cruise control at my normal 103 and cruise. Red P player pulls out, floors it, and passes me, not a drama.
Car coming the other way suddenly lights up red and blue with a "Whoop-Woop".
Ute pulls over onto the shoulder, I cruise past and go on my way.

It wasn't our local cop but a roaming traffic car far from home. It's so temping to pull the wire but I got lucky with a bit of self control this time.

Saw 14 for sale on Gumtree sounds a bargain if anyone Oz looking. Port Macquarie NSW. 51k, 2005, full Yoshi, Ventura rack, b/w colour. Says in good nick. $5900.As always, what they say and how it actually is, bad photos.

Seen a couple recently around the $5k mark.
Not sure what they are like though.
I'm starting to get tempted.

Today saw a work ute change from lh lane dual roundabout, cut off a big old Hardly, lots of swearing, didnt know a hardly could stop/ evade that quickly. Know one hurt but was a good visual.

Went to have a look at the V-Strom 800.

There are a huge amount of dirt roads, pine forest tracks, fire trails and similar around where I am.

I've had a lot of off road / trail bikes in the past, not recently.

Mrs said to go buy it, but I'm unsure how much I'd actually use it once the novelty wore off.

Still undecided.

Between 16 and 17k. There's a couple of versions, not sure we get the lower seat smaller front wheel one here. This is the slightly more dirt version.

Same new parallel twin as in the GSX8S roadbike, but better suited to the dirt than highways IMO.

Probably more than I should spend, but the alternative would be an old SV style V- Strom, a used DR600 or DRZ400, none of which get my attention.

Might go and see what older stuffs on Bikesales.
