Quote from: Phill P on Saturday, 10 June  2023, 01:47 AMPersonally, I enjoy working on my bike and changing it to be my vision as much as I do riding it, it's always been that way for me be it car or bike.
I get what's being said about modern bikes and the short stubby tail, looks hideous, just compare he old and new Katana. As for standard bikes being worth more, yup probably, I just don't care, my bike,my way, don't like my mods, seriously I don't care.
I've had the same conversations on the xjroc and the stoc  :cheesy:

can't agree more Phill, ive just sold a 1980 GSX1100 for half the price a bog standard is advertised for. whether it'll sell for that price i don't know ? my GSX11 was heavily modified but i made money on it which is always good and the buyer loves it which makes me happy.
ive modified pretty much every bike ive owned to some degree and most of the time made money on them, some people like to keep their bikes totally standard and I have no problem with that if it floats their boat, plus in time the value will be good. but for me I like to be different plus I enjoy doing the mod's. my bikes might not appeal to everyones taste but i don't care, but their are plenty of people who do like them and are prepared to pay the asking price so i can buy another bike to modify  :clapping:

Your bike your choice
If your not bothered about resale then totally up to you as already said if you plan to move it on the more standard the better .
My bikes will not be sold so are just modded to suit me 🤔
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Milts

Just stumbled across this post.

I've just finishing returning my bike back to stock.

Have removed tail tidy*, mini indicators, race cans, led clear tail light, polished torque arm and grab rail.

* I'd forgotten how much was involved in doing that conversion!

Think the bike is looking in the latest glamour shots 😏

Yours is the look I prefer Milts..
I spent quite a lot on my previous 2005 model to "un molest" it..

Whenever people post up chavved bikes for sale I always add up the cost of fixing all the shyte mods & deduct that from the advertised price before I even think how much I'd offer.

Thanks for the nice comments,

I appreciate both standard and modified bikes, it's purely down to personal taste.

No the photos aren't touched up, I can barely work out how to post the pics!

It doesn't matter what bait you throw out hooli you're always guaranteed a bite!😉

Totally agree, when a random person comes up and says nice bike mate, you know it pleases some.
