I ordered chain n sprockets along with new plugs. I've got 50k out of the last lot so they're due replacement.

That's only a fortnight of riding for you though @Hooli  :stir: :stir: :stir: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :hat:
50 miles a fortnight average for me - another 10 years may need chain and sprockets !!  :)
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

50 miles a fortnight Notty? I`m impressed, given that 49 of those miles were probably through floodwater :worshippy:......I sincerely hope its getting better for you guys up there.

That's your busy fortnight isn't it? what's the other 25 fortnights a year like?

Kiwifruit

Busy fortnight is probably MOT time. Other fortnights are popping round to Froudys to ogle his hidden stash of bling   :hat:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I replaced a few service bits tonight. I'd planned it for the weekend but the parts where here when I got home & I got carried away.

Chain n sprockets, plugs, front pads & stripped the switchgear to clean it as a few things have played up lately. The wiring to the clutch switch snapped as I did that, much less annoying than away from home!

50k miles from the chain etc & plugs seems acceptable to me, the sprocket doesn't look too bad for that. I'm glad to be back on proper plugs though, my 14 has never felt as happy when running on iridium plugs.

KiwiCol

Yer front sprocket looks like one from those posters that show bad stuff.  Only 50K?  were you towing a trailer . . .

I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

Hooli, what pads you decide on? Mine getting down, lasted a long time. Id like same again but cant remember what they were.

Miles remember...

It's done a few tours within that.

I think I'll keep the sprocket for my wall of junk, like the blown piston from my Bonnie.

I've got the cheapest nastiest Kyoto pads (£15 for both sides), I've used them before & they work but don't last. I normally use Brenta GG as I like them & they are still cheap, work well & last. But I picked these up from the local shop before I went to Portugal as I knew they were low, took them with me but didn't need them over there.

Took the black for a run today, ended up on shingle road (about 6 k's) which was very rutted in places, lots of sharp stones & 'deep' shingle drifts.  Made it through & back ok, but was thinking these tyres aren't made for this sort of road, hope I don't get a puncture out here. Couple of pic's below.

Ended up at an access track to the beach, thought about having a crack at the sand, then thought better of it.  It's soft, not hard sand, so reckoned it best not to push my luck.

Col, you should sell one 14, Tenere or V Strom for those roads.

KiwiCol

I try not to use this type of road, just today I wanted to get to the end & have a look.
