Some star pickets...

... and a washing line...

I remember when life was all heavy machinery, motorbikes and holidays, now it's plants, fences and washing lines, Fark me! I need to get my act together.... 🤣
Need some weed killer too by the look of it...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Yeah, haven't got to that bit yet. It'll get turfed or seeded, but I got a guy to camera all the drains this morning to check after I had some issues with the build, wasn't going to do anything untill I got the all clear, hence only just putting the washing line up. Turns out it's all good so that's a relief.

Thanks. It's only taken me nearly 40 years of mortgages and mutiple house renovations, failed relationships and jobs I hated to get here and fund it. ....  ;)

Got an excavator in.
Strip top soil, spread crusher dust, lift tanks into place.

A bit messy but it's progress.
5th and 6th water tanks in place, now they need plumbing in.  We can now hold up to 31,000 gallons / 141,000 ltrs. Nearly 200ltr a day each for a year! In reality it means we can water the garden, wash cars and not be paranoid about using water in the house as we don't have mains water out here.

This morn bike clock was 6 mins slow, unusual as always been perfect. That was the clue.  Started no probs, went to servo, started again no probs. Went to put inside at work, nothing. .2 V under load. Total open circuit battery. Amazing they can just do that. $140 later, new AGM Superstart, same as b4.Fitted cut off rubber hose under terminal nuts, talked about this b4, works so well. 👍 Reset clock, all good. Rode home, just got in and huge rain. Lucky batt stuffed up at work, lucky i missed the rain.

A bit of head scratching. Wanted to run a downpipes overhead from one shed to the other. The tin sheeting isn't screwed to the big C section so nothing really solid to mount too. Wanted to tension a cable across to take the pipes weight when full.

Ended up using big steel L brackets inside the shed off the 200mm C purlins to sit inside the sheets to mount too.

Managed to find a fitting to gravity feed from the two old (full) tanks into the new ones.

Tried a different balancer pipe. Old shed used suction hose in a big 360 degree loop, but it's a shit to work with.  Fittings don't allow a straight pipe. We added 4 x 90 degree bends, not done it before but it lets you mount the straight pipe directly on with no force or bending.

A bit of tidying up today but all the plumbing is in. (I am not a plumber!)

...... and I bought and put in another steel corner post brace and some star pickets for my next fenced off orchard / garden area.

Mate, great job, I'm no plumber either. I would suggest to watch that black poly balance pipe.  Your tanks will grow and contract with the sun during the day and at different rates depending how full they are.  A bit of flex in the balance pipe will allow for this differential expansion.  Too rigid and it will pop the fittings and you will lose all your water

Yeah, I'll keep an eye on it. I have two pairs of these tanks already and any movement is very minimal. The link we did does allow for a bit of flex in the link pipe. I'll certainly watch it.

Tony, my gutter pipe from shed to house over 30 yrs, never a problem. Your tank link pipes, should be ok, id be happier with black nylon water pipe, sun will kill flexi, throw a cover over it.

I bought some new Yoshi's for the skoot today...  :boogie: very nicely made...

Another 500m of barbed wire.  That's 3 sides of the garden extension fenced.  Remaining side already has the gate and posts concreted in. Just need to buy 1 post brace kit, 12 more star pickets, and possibly another roll of barbed wire.
