I fit all my own tyres and its not difficult.  When using the levers take very small bites and use an old leather belt to protect the rim.

Do you balance your own tyres at home mjgt? If so, how do you go about it please?

Cheers,
Dave.

Yes mate I balance mine at home, I do both wheels.  I have a static balancer and I managed to blag a bag of wheel weights off a mobile tyre fitter who came out to fix a puncture on one of my hire cars.
With the static balancer I just place the rod with cones through the wheel and place on the jig and give it a spin.  Once it has settled I use a piece of white marker to mark the top of the tyre and give it another spin (very slowly) and mark again, if it's in the same place I Sellotape a wheel weight to the rim at the mark and spin again.  One I get the right amount of weight  and the wheel stops at random points I stich the weights to the rim, job done.
Hope that helps.

Cheers mate, I have a `bit of a flutter` coming off the front, annoyingly at around 80mph - tried riding through it without success. I`ll give it a try :onya: I`m not convinced that the mobile tyre fitter did a good enough job when he did it, as all was rock solid before the new tyre !

Notty, with that kind of mileage your bikes gonna be knackered - cut your losses and get rid, forget new tyres, they`re the least of your problems

I agree, 14s can't take high miles.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Today worked my arse off, dodged all the storms around us, bought a 6.6 kw solar installation for house, bottled and drank some beer. All good.

Just replaced the front driveshafts in my Audi A6 Quattro, not too difficult but still a pain in the arse

Did the front lower control arms on my LR discovery 4 the other day. Went for a wheel alignment straight after, had to go back today as the steering wheel was not straight and the car pulled to the left.  Second go at it today sorted it.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

If the bastards had to pay for the tyres they rooted snd your time to get it redone they would be more careful

I wouldve wanted money back and go elsewhere. All our alignments are road tested, if not perfect, have another go. Sometimes the system not perfect, can remember doing some 3 or 4 times. Does my head in, seemed perfect first time. Often think old aligners way back were better. Mechanical camber/ caster gauges, measuring rods for toe in. All cars back then were harder to adjust, now days mainly just toe in.

Eric GSX1400K3

Yep.  Didn't have to pay (as expected).  Issue with air suspension and the ecu that runs it is it constantly levels the car, so I have to put it in 'tight tolerance' mode to get it to sit still.

They got it sorted no issues.

My comfy Shoei XR-1000 died the other week, the lining soft foam decided to crumble & fall out so it didn't fit anymore. So I've had to buy a new lid, first time I've ever spent proper money on a hat as I was given the last Shoei so this had better last a decade or so!

Shoei NXR in safety matt black. I got a tinted visor & second pinlock for summer too.

VladTepes

Nice.  I think I need a new visor for my Neotec 2.  It's not all that old but somehow is really scratched up.
