I took mine for a little run out, stopped for breakfast and it snowed on us! That didn't last long though which was good.

Anyone who remembers Moonpig off the old Org won't be surprised hrs got another 14. 08 plate FE with just 5k miles on, he says he's keeping this one.

I remember the name, 5K miles on an 08 I bet that cost a pretty penny to buy! some of the prices ive seen lately are crazy

Getting the 14 ready for the end of lockdown -hopefully - been a long 3 months  :bugga:

End of lockdown imminent - that reminds me, I really must get mine MOT`d

Grumpy old man

I Finally got round to fitting the new fork and dust seals as well as new bushes and a thorough internal clean of the forks including flushing the damper rods with some sacrificial fork oil to clean as much crap out as possible

someone before me had changed the right side oil ,bushes and seals and put far too much oil in the fork  the air gap was only 80 mm with the spring removed on this fork and the locknut on top of the damper was all the way at the bottom of the thread

The left fork had very worn out bushes and most probably the factory oil as it was disgusting and it was just under 120 mm air gap but had been weeping

So now all new bushes new Motul 5W oil ,new seals locknut set to 11 mm and air gap at 108 mm (stock springs)each after working the dampers for a couple of mins each side

It feels sooo much better

I Really hate it when I find Muppet mechanical antics like this on a bike it isn't that hard to get it as it should be

Grumpy, agree about bad mechanics. I am a mechanic, annoys me so much. When i first got my 14, low ks , full services by Suzuki dealer. Book stamped etc. So many things wrong. Suspension settings werent even same either side. One fr caliper bolt not done up. TPS, STPS, idle speed etc, nothing was right. Took a good 12 mths to go thru, set everything correct. Well worth it in end but shouldve all been done.

That's one of the reasons I do nearly everything myself on cars & bikes, almost every time I've paid a garage to do a job I've ended up redoing it afterwards. The worst one was actually an ex's 14 she'd had totally rebuilt by a local bike garage, here's a rough list of errors from a £3k bill the best part of a decade ago -

Bent fork internals they supplied & fitted so they jammed mid travel
Seal missed off under the steering bearings, so they charged her to make a spacer rather than do the job properly
Wiring loom misrouted so the cam sensor couldn't be plugged on properly and others where straining connectors
The second hand frame they supplied had the numbers ground off, it'd been crashed too as the engine was 10mm too far back & 5mm too low on the RH side
E-clips missed off the retaining pins for the footpegs, so they could have fallen off out at any time
They claimed it needed new TBs or 5 hours work as it started on two cylinders - this was the last straw that made me get her to bring it home, all they needed was balancing

There was more but I can't remember anymore. I know I ended up taking it apart and doing it again so it was safe to ride. Unfortunately the garage is still open, even though I still tell everyone how poor their work is.

Mind you I also know someone who works at a dealers & put their own bike in for a new chain & sprockets at the place they worked. Once it came back I had to align the rear wheel as it was 2-3mm too far back on the right, I spotted that from 25ft away as the kink in the chain as it came off the rear sprocket was very obvious.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Grumpy old man

I think this particular bike will take a bit longer than 12 months for me as it stands it needs

New rear shocks not leaking but just worn out
Front calipers need new seals/ rebuilding/painting may as well do the rear
both master cylinders need a seal kit for good luck
Fork bottoms need sanding painting
frame needs touching up chips surface rust
Stanchions need re-chroming after closer inspection
All paint could use some attention chips/scratches etc
Cant stand the Blue/purple wheel colour
Discs will need replacing eventually
cant stand the chrome handlebars

The motor is solid with great compression Still showing 155 psi in all four
Throttle bodies all balanced
Fuel pump is delivering the right amount as timed
Runs like a champ
SOOO Easy to work on I mean 2 forks off stripped cleaned, new seals oil bushes and back on the bike in just over 2 hours including a Cuppa

It will take a while as we are getting ready to move house but as long as it is safe and no bits are falling off it will have a space in the Garage unless it pisses me off too much then a newer gen 2 Hayabusa may take its place

We had a 3 day lockdown and that was enough for me   I feel for you guys. How did it all go so wrong  :confused1:

Lunatics in charge believing idiots who've proved to be utterly wrong about every major health event in the last 20 years or so.

We've still got the idiot who said hundreds of thousands would die of BSE (it was 3) and billions of Bird flu advising them, you'd think he'd have got fired years ago wouldn't you?

I took my 86 yo Dad to https://www.qagoma.qld.gov.au/whats-on/exhibitions/themotorcycle we found a bike the same age as him LOL. And a bike motor called a SPENCER, our family surname. It's a World Class display of some rare and exotic motorcycles, check out the link included.  :clapping: :clapping:

Ahh proper bikes.

Lots of very positive feedback from Brisbane VJMC members on this exhibition.I understand It also includes younger machines from our era.
