Easy Seth! - just had to pay the GST and PST  which after 11 years of ownership is a joke - I will fight it with the ministry of finance.
Grrrrr

I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

Nothing yet, but read through the whole topic. Took few days to digest everything, but have now inspiration for the upcoming winter. Lots of things to do I reckon. Brakes overhaul, fuelling to be sorted from tank until injectors, front forks overhaul. Touch-up painting here and there... Just want to make good better. Oh, she has 15 years also so it's about a time to give some love back. Today will go for a spin anyhow. :boogie2:

Well after our trip to fort Agustus on the way home it got very windy and blustery with the odd heavy shower and after getting blown all over the place on the A9 , i decided i needed some protection so i picked this up on eBay and fitted it and it works brilliantly .

i intend to live for ever or die trying !!

Did flow test for fuel pump. Seems to deliver around 1.2 liters @ 30 sec. Still have the original HP filter, teabag was renewed last week. Happy with above but should I also do pressure test? Bike has 50 K on the clock, K5. Gave the bike a good clean and some wax. Noticed that there is some noise coming from rear wheel when being rotated... Need to check tomorrow more closely. Removed swingarm last week so hopefully I put everything back in right order...  :whatever:

This is good result - I had only 0.4 liters @ 30 sec, and continues revs pressure was ~3 bar's. It was dropping till ~1 bar while quick throttle opening but still bike was able to do 125+ HP on whell (Yochi cams).

I think, you may check fuel pressure just to know, but quite sure it will be OK. If you 14 is running OK, not need to spent money on service, if only you dont want to do a DIY testing :)

Northern, mine also has Yoshis installed. Makes 134 hp and 136 Nm. After the Yoshis came in the low register lost the smoothness, trying to solve this. Have tackled few problems already. Did throttle body sync last week, helped a lot. Still not perfect. Back to drawing board... TPS next.

Sprocket carrier bearing? these eat them for fun.

@DTTW
I find out, I have fueling issue (bad HP filter) on a dyno, when tuner could not get AFR right on top end. This is why only 125...
Next spring - will go to dyno again. This time with new pomp, filter and fuel line.

Higher cams, may cause lack of smoothness on lover revs. But not critical (IMHO). I also notice a little bit more vibrations with new cams.

Good luck, sorting your issue  :cheers:

My last dyno remap was a bit off at the top due to a slightly clogged teabag filter luckily it was only at the very top of the rev range where it never goes .the left it slightly rich up there incase .he thought at the time it was a plug giving a slight miss-fire at high revs .I found the blocked teabag after when the miss-fire got much worse .
All good now .

Not my bike but I serviced my mum's Virago 250 & changed the fork oil in it. While doing the forks I found the front caliper was seized so fixed that too. It's only recently (a few months/ hundred mile) since she got it from a local bike shop in Clacton. The pinch bolt in the front forks wasn't even finger tight! I've never trusted that shop before & it's more proof never to do so again.

@northern

When my bike was tuned there were several things that should have been cleared before the dyno run. Throttle cables, tea bag and hp filter clean, throttle body sync and my tank breather hose was clogged... I strongly believe that the bike is capable to run lot smoother at low revs even with Yoshis installed if all things are within spec. Btw, did you put the valve clearance as per owners manual or what was written in the Yoshis instruction leaflet? Mine is as per owners manual at the moment.

Did not find the cause for the noise from my rear wheel, makes "clunk" noise always on the same section of wheel rotation. Took it apart, checked all bearings by finger, did not feel any slack, roughness or signs of wear on the bearings except the sprocket carrier bearing which had some "burning" marks on one section of the inner surface. I did change the sprocket carrier bearing just 10 k's ago but start to feel that perhaps I've run the chain too tight and maybe the wheel has not been aligned perfectly, causing this "burning", probably the bearing is shot. Anyhow at least the wheel is now waxed and all shiny.

DTTW, noise is a worry. dont over tighten chain, gearbox output bearing will get wrecked. just put back wheel up, remove front cover, spin for clunk. mine was chain. could feel then closer look could see on fr. sprocket.

@DTTW
t-bag filter was cleared, throttle valves were synced (I have my own Carbtune), throttle cables were new - replaced same time with cams. Throttle cable slack was adjusted by tuner himself.

I set up Yoshimura recommended clearances, and was trying to achieve top end of recommended values. Had to redo it few times.
There is some feedback regarding clearances I set: http://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=238.msg28438#msg28438

I seriously think, ride smoothness is very subjective. 14 have a big engine with lot of torque on low revs, so even slight change of throttle position could cause bike twitch, especially on low gears.

Mot tonight at midnight !! its a 24 hour garage and the only guy that does bikes is on nights ! so thought just check the bleeding obvious before i go - rear indicators not working FFS - all wires pulled off under the seat at the very rear where I store my emergency mobile/cash etc phew !!  :bugga:
