Doesn't the term patina relate to brass, copper & bronze?  the green tinge it gets, & the result of the same process on iron or steel is rust?

Just tends to refer to 'looking it's age' when about classic cars n bikes.

Yep.

The green stuff on copper is 'verdigris'
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

I bought a new bike lift from Ebay today. Damaged crate the listing said so I thought bargain when I got it for $325. I don't know if damaged or falling apart mean the same thing but it was in pieces. Things got worse loading on to the trailer when bits & pieces started escaping from the box but I'm not worried about a few nuts & bolts as I've got thousands at home.

On assembly I noticed a couple of larger things weren't there too ... the windup side of the front wheel clamp I could probably do without but not having a ram on a hydraulic bike lifter make the thing fairly fucking useless.

Hopefully these things will be replaced.

Here's the description on the sellers listing.

This unit was returned after the customer had a change of mind and appears unused. The box shows evidence of having been transported and opened and the carton has contained damage from stock, however there is no visible sign of the unit being used or of any damage to the unit. The performance and durability of the unit appears unaffected and presumed to be 100% functional. Unlike most items sold on eBay we also include a 3 month warranty on this unit.

Apparently they decided to let you figure out what's missing/damaged and then get the parts within the warranty. Hope you get it sorted.

Seems to a lot of that going on....ship it and hope for the best... customer service is not what it used to be    :whatever:

Makes me laugh when l see "Ready to assemble" in the advertising. As if its some sort of product feature.
Should read "all in bits".
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

They're sold by a large company who re-sold it after it was returned by the initial buyer. The crate had been re=sealed after said buyer took out what he needed. I don't have any concerns about being reimbursed but it's the inconvenience that's annoying. I just hope they can charge the buyer with theft.

I know it's only a sculpture, but I'm not sure I'd want that in my lounge.

Quantum HPF-384 OEM replacement fuel pump from Amazon.
Choose standard delivery, so it should be here, when I will be back from holidays 🙂

Entire evening, I was searching for reviews, and could not understand are they good or not... But they offer lifetime replacement warranty and considering the price, I decided to give it a try...
Will see, what it will be.
