I remember a motorcycle mechanic that used to use this forum telling me he has never seen a bearing collapse on a motorcycle. He was in the UK.

Mr Gee

Was he from the RNCB by any chance?  :happy1:

MrGee, MrGoogle helped me.RNCB, didn't have a clue, totally blinded I was.

Hooli

I ordered Snotbox a cheap chain last night. It's still wearing so fast I'm bored of adjusting it, a bit tight to very baggy in 450 miles. I know I should replace the lot but the sprockets are good and it'll see it through the winter.
Besides it's £70 cheaper than a kit and should last for how long I'll have the heap. If not I'll do it properly next year.

I did similar, bought cheap EK O ring chain to wear out sprockets. Just looked in my maintenance log, now just on 30th ks(19 th miles). Never been adjusted, sprockets still look same. Amazing chain EK and i reckon gear oil lube the best way. Castrol VMX. IMO. Micro fibre cloth and WD40 to clean .
