You probably have access to better stuff than I brought Eric, I got some called GA50, apparently it's ok.

Checking the bike over I noticed water in the ecu tray, found out the little drain hole was blocked so every time I washed the bike it was filling up, opened it back up and now draining.

Whilst I was there I took advantage to check something that had been at the back of my mind for some time. I put probes on to the wires that came from the TPS to check the voltage, my thinking is that the loom is over 24 years old , I keep all the connectors clean etc but I wondered about the voltage getting to the ecu. I found the voltage to be out compared to the reading on the TPS, not much but... so I adjusted the TPS while connected to the ecu, haven't had chance to ride it yet to see if my theory holds up...

I think voltage drop would be a few milli volts for that distance, perhaps enough to make a difference? Interesting, keep us informed what you find.

I was interested to see theat you can get a different volts reading between 1-2 and 3-4, so the screws connecting the two sets of throttle bodies affect things too.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

I had that block when a can of Tyreweld burst under the seat. If the undertray is full to the top of the battery with water you get a really bad misfire....

I rode the Bloo Thing on it's new tyres, feels odd as always but much nicer than the strangely shaped old ones. It's off to bike night later to put a few more miles on them.

Next I'll be packing the HD for a rally this weekend, I'd take the Bloo Thing but it's inside the London ULEZ & that'd mean £12.50 a day to ride in & out. The HD is listed as compliant (shame the cats fell out of the exhausts so it isn't really eh?) meaning I don't need to pay the charge.

Hooli

Well I'm at the rally, at Kenley airfield in the Surrey Hills.

Shame I slipped slightly on a step out of a cafe on the way and did my back really. Even on codine etc I can hardly stand up now. Hopefully that'll improve soon.

Fingers crossed for your back quickly improving Hooli and that it doesn't completely muck up your time at the rally.
Codeine has no anti inflammatory effect...can you lay your hands on some ibuprofen too?
There's always room in the world for a bit more tolerance and kindness.

That's a real bugger Hooli, been there n done that. Time and continuous gently movement will bring it right, unless of course you managed to pop a disc out.

It's got both in it.

Nah it's muscles, I've done it before and normally takes a week or two to fix. The joys of getting old.

Balanced throttle, re adjusted idle. Checked tps on dash in diagnostic.Sounds sweet now👍Hose restrictor valves I found at pet shop, used to adjust aquarium air flow.

Fitted the crash bars that I bought off Notty.  :clapping:  :onya:  :smitten:

Interesting about the TPS on the dash Grog, I've been chasing low down running issues for ages and have tried numerous ways to set it up, today I used the dealer mode to check TPS and there is quite a difference in adjustment between the high and low indicator on the dash, I'm starting to wonder if trying to get to optimum readings either volts or ohms actually isn't that critical after all, I marked on the body where it changes from high to low to confirm this  :confused1:

Hooli

The Ohmage setting is only a base point to set things up. What matters most is the voltage the ECU sees & the dealer mode display shows if that's within the correct range.

T250

Yeah that's what i was thinking, and why I measured voltage at the ECU and the TPS and was surprised how much leeway before the dash reading changed...
