I test rode a mates Sprint GT he has for sale, didn't do it for me ... and I've never been a HD guy it's all Japanese for me ... except for a Speed Triple my son has been rebuilding.

When i was looking for a tourer, I had the Sprint GT on my list. I found one and went and had a look, very nice, included all panniers and heaps of extras, in the right money price wise too.  I sat on it and I was flat footing it with my bum not even on the seat, such a low bike. Reach to the bars was long too if i rememver correctly.  I would have bought it if the ergonomics weren't so bad for me.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Mates Sprint GT ticked all boxes when it came to condition, klms & price,  it just didn't do it for me.

It's really to early to tell with the FJR on a long distant ride, no matter what I have a have a stuffed back and neck to contend with. Cruise control works brilliantly and be nice to have the heated grips.

Phoned Shannon's to insure the FJR and Zephyr 750 ...5 bikes now and plus two vehicles the insurance through Shannon's went up a whole $8 per month !!!

Big discount once 7 vehicles insured.

My new tyres for the Bloo Thing arrive today, Avon Spirit STs. I'll try to get them fitted this week.

To find them.

When I'd washed to dirt, mud and dust off there were a lot less than I was expecting.

If it'd been the Busa I'd have been ordering parts tomorrow and getting a 4 figure bill. It's nice that the bike bounces well, nothing to fix, although I doubt it'll be its last time.

So I changed the silencer so to, finally, have a high-end Yoshipovic exhaust :-)
(or Akramura... can't decide which... depends if you see it from left to right or from front to end? :-D )

For once, not a 'technical enhancement', not maintenance either, just a slight mod to get back to the visual feelings of the good ol'times.

OK, that's a Chinesium silencer that has required a bit of attention before being fittable/properly usable: replaced packing which was... minimalist and had a bespoke DBkiller made to keep MOT guys (and Police) happy.

Headers name should come first then muffler name imho.
Both sound good though.
Mine is a Yoshimaster. Titanium Yoshi headers and Pipemasters stainless muffler.

M.O.T today, all good, now got to print off the certificate myself at home, as apparently this is what the authorities have been pushing for a long time  :jack:

Got home and adjusted TPS and STPS and balanced throttle bodies, contact cleaner on all plugs as I can't remember the last time I did it...

The tractor had been squeaking from the rear last time out & again today, so I checked & yup the rear caliper was warm. Once I got home I left it long enough for the exhaust to cool down & then popped the rear caliper off to copper slip & rubber grease various bits after a clean up.
Now for those wondering, the end can needs to come off to get access to the caliper. It's only two allen bolts & a clamp to loosen so doesn't add much time to the work.

Found a bargain the other day whilst in my local BMW independent. End can that looks suspiciously like an Akrapovic titanium jobby.  Needs a polish and clean up, but its a perfect fit for the Bavarian Mistress.  Started her up and now she has a nice deep growl.

Not bad for an AUD100 find.

Challenge has always been to find the correct link pipe and muffler length, as they vary between the various K44 variants (R,S and GT) and also between the 1300 and older 1200cc models.

Seems I've lucked in on both counts.

Will polish it up later, first wanna see how it rides. By all reports around 4-5kw more and a stronger bottom end.
