Agreed, although I don't "fit" a 14 any more, there's definitely something to be said for a bike of circa 20 years & still looks good & has great road presence.

The downside to a lot of bikes I love, the B-King and GSX1400 especially is there isn't a modern equivalent.  Many bikes get improved and evolve over time, GSXR's, Busa's, heaps of others, but the King and 14 were the end of their type. Lots of great bikes since but not the same.  You can't buy a big bore Japanese naked bike that's solid brute of a bike anymore.

There's quite a few bikes that get my interest, but unlike over the last 40 years, they aren't big bore Suzuki's or Kawasakis anymore.

I'm loving the rides I'm having on the ZZR1200! Did a 500k round trip today and everything went well, cruising along at 100k plus is effortless on the bike and my body, can't believe how well the 23 year old bike handles. It's a bit harsh on the suspension on some of the bumpier sections, I'll redo the front forks oil, not knowing what oil weight was used when the forks were serviced recently before I bought it.

The GSX1400 isn't going anywhere , it's a life long keeper as well as the XJR1300.

The last couple of mornings with my first coffee of the day...

No shortage of Pigeons, plenty of Apostle Birds, Galahs, Magpies, Blue Faced Honey Eaters, Rosella's, a couple of Kingfishers, PeeWee's, Currawong, quite a few others.
We get a few Kookaburras and Cockatoo's and others but they aren't interested in the yard.

Came back through town just before lunch. Absolute chaos! Police, fire brigade, ambulances, tow trucks. One of the cars was blocking the lanes going the other way, the car was pretty chewed up, looked a real mess, worrying was that there were several paramedics around the car so obviously someone was still in there. I wasn't expecting to hear good news.

However, the local news just posted up...

" An elderly person was lucky to escape with only minor injuries"

Someone's Xmas could have just been a lot worse !

Red light cameras for bonus points & fines next.

Or do you lose points over there? I forget.

An interesting week, so far.

Monday, I was in around Hooli- land.
Doncaster, Castleford and Sheffield.

Wednesday, I was by the seaside, in Folkstone, at the old Piper RS exhaust factory. Sadly, they no longer make motor bike exhausts
but had one, on my old GS100G. Posted the photo before but I for one, never tire of looking at my old bikes.

Thursday, in around and around the Norfolk Broads.

And what magnificent examples of British automotive engineering in the background...a Fiesta and an Allegro. Amazing vehicles, said nobody ever!
