Today fitted MotoWolf bar risers. 38 mm up, 18 mm back. Thats maximum for 14, extended brake hose required for any more.Test ride difference, forward lean weight on arms, gone.More relaxing for sure.Did 20k motorway,20k back road.No hip cramps today👏Did notice seems easier to flick side to side, i guess my weight moved back a tad, dont really know.

I always find it easier to turn bikes I'm sat up on too. I think it's because if I'm leaning on the bars I'm pushing against my own weight to steer, sat up I'm just pushing the bars. If that makes any sense?

Pretty damn good description of my feeling today. First bar change in 13 yrs, really noticed difference.

Great feed back Grog.  Only ever had the aftermarket bars on mine, that's how I bought it. I have the std hanging in the shed, never fitted them.  Might be interesting to see how it changes the bike...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

KiwiCol

Sold mine.   The Blue is gone, well, it's been paid for & I'm delivering it (riding) to Christchurch on Sunday for the new owner, who will fly down from up north & collect it off his mate.
It's been a good bike & I've no regrets owning it.   The Black is supposed to get paid for on Sunday & that'll be collected (apparently) by a bike moving co.

The end of the line for me on the GSX's, least I get a last big (careful) ride on the Blue to send her off.  :onya:

A great last ride to have on the blue one Col. Going via which Pass, Arthur's or Lewis?

Would be a sad day for me Col but youre fired up on Rocket.Actually i was off to ride Speedmaster, no idea if id like one. Anyway new risers on 14 have given me a new perspective, sort of like a new bike.See how it goes.

Hooli

Get the Speedmaster cranked up grog. A mate had one & said it was brilliant except it vibrated like hell around 80mph & drove him mad on long trips.

The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

A pie from the Sheffield pie shop and, after a short but well-worth-it detour, an ice cream from the Darfield dairy will fortify you.

Safe travels...watch out for the road slugs and white Corollas.

We're going over & back the same day, so no detouring.  I'm going to fill (& pic) it at Springs Junction and take the last pics at the top of the Lewis by the summit sign, then final one in the yard / driveway of the new owners mate.

Then we'll visit my mother for an hour or so & head back home in Mrs car.  She'll be driving so I'll probably sit back with a 6 pack   & enjoy the scenery, and probably a pie as well.

Col is it rude to ask the new owners of your beloved GSX's to join our group ?

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

KiwiCol

Both new and prospective black owner have / had GSX1400s either currently or in the past. I'll mention the site to them with a link, but it their call at the end of the day.
