Wasnt faultless Eric, running rich you said. Reason i think a bad connection.Rule out valve clearance. No FI lite makes it strange.

Eric GSX1400K3

Correct you are mate, but in terms of revving freely it was good. I really appreciate the advice, I will check all connections and earth's. Thanks mate
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Andre

Put vacuum pipes including  PAIR valve on your list.

Looks like I sold both of mine!  Only listed a few days & both gone, subject to finance coming through next week.  Funny, I only listed 1 & mentioned the other & both gone.

Though the bikes may be gone next week, I won't be.  Someone's gotta keep an eye on you lot!  :onya:    Besides, I just couldn't give up the Executive Lounge key . . .
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

As a wise man said once Andre, ya only got 1 arse.  (C/- Mr KF)

For me, the R3GT is a nicer ride than the 14.  Better leg position, better wrist position as in no leaning on them, less wind buffeting directed at my head, although that was considerably improved by cutting down the screen, it was still there.
It's a more powerful bike with a great 'presence' about it and I prefer to ride that nowadays over the 14. The R3GT has rekindled my enthusiasm for riding and that's a good thing.  The 14 just wasn't getting the use it really deserves (cos I'm always riding the R3)
Our rego here is expensive too (and rising considerably) & the cost of running 2 big bikes is another factor, but it's mainly I prefer riding the R3.

I sorta thought you'd take that track Col. Weight on wrists and shoulders, i can relate to that, bar risers coming to hopefully help.

KiwiCol

I had risers on the 14, didn't think it was too bad when I rode it, it was only after I had ridden the R3 many times & got back on to the 14 I noticed it, very quickly.  The cruiser position is just better for me for legs, arms, head buffeting.  The added power is a bonus, not a reason, but it is bloody awesome!!

OK, thought you had sold the Rocket too.

I have 2 GSX1400's Andre, both K6, 1 Black & 1 B/W.   No cash from anyone yet, so I still have them.

So, checked all earth's - all ok
Checked battery, 13.4v static, 11v when cranking, so also ok
Checked fuses, main 30a on lhs ok, Checked smaller 10a and 15a as well, all ok. Checked side stand switch, clutch switch and both ok.
Checked main relay just behind 30a fuse, terminals tight so ok. Tried to start it after that, FI light and no fire. Aldo noticed i had no turn signals. Removed and replugged the flasher relay, and viola, all's well. Checked and cleand coils, plugs and pairs valves anyway, as well as hp external filter, which was a bit dirty.  Put a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank.  Also checked the stator signal generator plate. As I suspected, the little magnet in the holder is broken. I wonder if that affects running, magnet is held in place quite rigidly in its bracket though.  A new stator plate is 325 aud  from mick hone, but I found one at webike Japan for 185, plus 75aud postage, so it's a bit better. Might also check replacement coils as a preventative   See how the ride tomorrow goes

Col, to put some perspective on the ride position your fellow readers need some context on your physique.
You're completely in proportion but a much larger individual than most people. To say you make GSX1400 look like a mini bike when you're onboard is superfluous. The R3T is by its nature a suitable candidate for your frame. I'm jealous of the torque and horsepower but it all comes at a price.
Are second hand GSX's holding their value in NZ ?
