Quote from: KiwiCol on Friday, 17 January  2025, 02:09 PMI've been looking at Lithium batteries lately myself, for when the R3GT needs a new battery.  SSB Powersport Lithium, seem very good.  They have a BMS that allows charging with normal a alternator or battery charger & they don't loose charge sitting around, like you found out Tony.  They're very light & have a good amount of grunt.

Exactly what you need to worry about on the Triumph Col, weight saving  :rofl2:  :rofl2:

He has to worry about weight due to the modest torque on those

KiwiCol

It was nowt to do with weight saving, it was looking at new tech & a higher cca rating for a given size.

and the torque is bloody amazing!  not as good as a 1400 naturally :whistling: , but bloody amazing. :onya:
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

ive got the SSB in the 1402. No issues spins up everytime. Very happy
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Quote from: Hooli on Friday, 17 January  2025, 08:38 AMYesterday I took mine around the Peak District & visited Magpie Mine. Today I just went to Squires.

Realised why it's so twitchy on the filthy wet roads when I got home. The front tyre is bald on the sides & the rear is nearly illegal in the middle. I think that's the first time I've taken out a front tyre first.

Tomorrow I'll shop about & get yet another pair ordered.

Small update on this...

I ordered the tyres from an ebay seller on Friday PM with expected delivery before Weds, they turned up this morning! Not early enough to get the wheels down to a tyre shop with them, but still a lot earlier than I expected.

Another pair of Avon Spirit STs for those that care.

KiwiCol

I washed a couple of dirty girls today . . .

From either angle the bike closer to the camera looks so much bigger. An optical illusion I expect.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

KiwiCol

The R3GT is bigger (longer & heavier and a touch more grunt) than the GSX, but the GSX is taller.

GSXKING

Your superfast Blue and White certainly looks a lot more rideable.  :boogie:

I know the Rockets are an awesome bike but the look of the back wheel to tail just doesn't do it for me  :whatever:

I have a mate with a Rocket 111, we give each other a lot of grief and piss taking, I get as much as I give.

I asked him if his Rocket 111 had a 2.5ltr, a 3 cylinder engine, a heap of torque, a big fat rear tyre, upright seating position, more grunt than top speed, he said yes.

I said mine too! .... and sent him a picture of my Massey Ferguson than has exactly that description.

Don't worry, the Hayabusa piss taking comes back thick and fast!

that's looks great. I'd be worried if I got my wheels done like that it would make the rest of my bike look really bad

I'm trying to get the bike as good as I can but but compared to some on here I'll never achieve it. Things like dull axle threads or fasteners that are not perfect, However it will look good but never like new  :whatever:
