Quote from: grog on Tuesday, 06 June  2023, 06:49 PMI priced it up, me doing the work, cant even find a shiny cyclone for sale, black only. Wouldnt like that. What i found. ST1, $1051. Black Cyclone, $2000, Dyno, $400. PC to tune, hard to find, maybe $500. Oil, filter, sealer or new gasket, added $100. Being modest, around $4100.Not sure if ive missed anything.

My 14 was $2500 with a Cyclone full system, dyno mapped PC3. it needed clocks and has other damage but what paid was less than the bits he'd bolted onto it. Luggage, Pazzo's, fork brace, PAIR blanks etc.   if it was a nice example I'd look at a set of cams, but not sure it justifies it for what I do.

No the secret is:
- have a bloke on a GSX1400owners.org forum selling a set for an unmissable price.
- know a bloke who generously offers to do the install for free, including the modifications required.
- have same bloke upload the map he has on his similar bike to the PC3 I already have.
and get it done for what was an affordable price.

Fortunately I already had a full akro kit on the bike. Thanks to @Bov

I haven't had it dyno'ed to get a setup that perfectly matches my bike, but the cost of a dyno-tune is so high that I'd have to be confident they could set it up to get a fuel saving if I was gonna be able to justify that money. Why? Because it uses as much fuel as my wife's Mazda so the range has gone to shit. And that's at revs below the 6-6500rpm when the Yoshi cam profile really does its thing.

Anyway this probably belongs in a Yoshi cam thread.

Again, nice hayabusa!

Quote from: VladTepes on Tuesday, 06 June  2023, 12:19 PMBut back to the busas.

Started removing some of the unnecessary stuff.
Long hero bolts and damper weights from the pegs, front reflectors etc etc. Grab rail and rear pegs have already gone, I'll look at some lighter exhaust hangers and bar ends. It's all little bits but picking up the box they are going in together they are significant.

Had a run into the city and got a blank key coded to the bike, only having 1 key on a bike with an immobiliser makes me nervous!

Funds are a bit low so I'm more likely to be doing little cheap jobs for a while, rather than a full system or RCC turbo! I do have enough to weld or replace the BTL which really should be a priority.

Today...

Chatting with a more serious drag racer he confirmed I have the right bike for what I'm doing. The Gen-2 is more powerful and a better base to work from than the Gen-1 or Gen-3, and the early Gen-2 (mine) has a little less weight, clutter and complication than the later Gen-2 "not that special ABS" version.

As THE bike of choice for performance and horsepower builds for the last 24 years the amount of go-faster aftermarket stuff is absolutely huge, sadly, the amount of money currently in my wallet isn't !

I'm not sure fuel consumption is a consideration when upgrading with Yoshi cams etc etc as long as it produces a more spirited ride I think it Is money well spent 😝😝

GSX, i wouldnt have thought a lot of difference if Vlad riding below 6k. Others with ST1 will have the Knowledge. Vlad, youve done the job, book a dyno.

Looks like the busa has flat tires :confused1:

I thought that too Andre, some of the shots when the busa is cornering, the tires look flat.   Can't of been though else they would be destroyed in very quick order.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

BigCC's new Gen-3 turbo kit.

Sean was saying it's not chasing ultimate power (they have a couple of 900hp Busa's) but are trying to use the factory ECU / IMU that lets them keep a lot of the bikes tech and not use a race / stand alone system.

I love how stock it looks, apart from the fat link pipe and clutch cover it's a pretty sneaky sleeper...

Another 450k / 280 miles this morning.
Not a bad way to spend a Monday morning in Winter.

Quote from: grog on Tuesday, 04 July  2023, 06:16 PMFor you Tony. https://www.visordown.com/news/new-bikes/suzuki-hayabusa-25th-anniversary

Yeah, Suzuki put up a post on all the owners groups and pages saying What do you think?

I said Not impressed.

For 2 years they have been sending Gen-3's out with billet folding levers, billet oil caps and chain adjusters, free covers, free mats, touring screens, heated grips, crash bungs etc etc.   This bike is supposed to be special and it's just paint and a sticker. It's not as nice as all the bikes in the last 2 years.

Suzuki say it's "Special" as it has a logo on the huge cans that most folk bin and a Busa logo on the chain that's a consumable.

Even some nice can's like the later GSX14's Yoshi would have been nice.

There have been several "Special Edition" or "Limited Edition" Hayabusa's before this "Anniversary Edition" every single one is just a different colour and a sticker. Never anything of note.
