Quote from: grog on Friday, 02 June  2023, 05:42 PMIm just too old and crusty to suit one.

I'm 60 this year. Worsening arthritis, a hernia, a lazy valve in my heart and a few other issues from work and bike related mishaps.

I could probably find a bike that suits my old bones better, my 14 certainly does ! ... but I enjoy it while I can as I might not get the choice in the future.

Roof (Rufus)

He was 1 last week. 22kgs. Don't think he'll be as big as my last boy, he ended up at 30kg of muscle.

This one is different, fast and lean, he's caught a rat and a rabbit and I've had to keep him away from the wallabies and ducks.

He's getting better as he gets older, guards the place, guards the Ute, was real easy to house train, just got a ridiculous amount of energy, even by Cattle Dog standards. Even my neighbour said... "He's not right is he!". I'm very familiar with the breed, but he's just wired 24/7.  Brand new house and I leave him alone for 2 minutes and he tried to rip a door frame out to get something outside.

I swear if he was a kid I'd be having him tested to see what he'd been taking...  :happy1:

My wife took a while to warm to him. For a while he refused to accept she outranked him. He opened her arm up and bit her badly a couple of times and it took some serious "educating" to sort him, but he loves her now and she's OK with him too. She has promised me we will NEVER have another pup though!

He's a handful but I love him.

Quote from: GSXKING on Friday, 02 June  2023, 07:14 PMfirst edition was an absolute beast. They've become more controllable with each iteration.

Yeah, pretty much.

The second Gen's had more power and still didn't have much electrical toys, no ABS etc to start with, so still a bit dated now, but as they went on they got better brakes, better fueling etc. The original wasn't the fastest or most powerful but in comparison to later models some folk see it as being more "raw" or basic.

They are awesome ride for sure. Im just too old and crusty to suit one. Amazing motor. Sometimes, rarely, i wish 14 just had a couple of thou revs more with a few more bhp.

Grog, cams and a pipe.
You'll get exactly what you asking for. Extra 35 bhp and all it pulls all the way to redline.
I know you don't need help since you're a mechanic or something similar.
But you'd get the bike you love with a "couple of thou revs more with a few more bhp"
I've considered nitrous and I even bought a turbo, but I just think it's great as it is with those improvements.
Might be worth considering.
Just sayin'.

I priced it up, me doing the work, cant even find a shiny cyclone for sale, black only. Wouldnt like that. What i found. ST1, $1051. Black Cyclone, $2000, Dyno, $400. PC to tune, hard to find, maybe $500. Oil, filter, sealer or new gasket, added $100. Being modest, around $4100.Not sure if ive missed anything.
