4 letter word. Begins with F. Not "frog" Repeat x 3.

Hurt pride - dropped bike in driveway    .... I'm ok but it's gonna need new gear linkage, and throttle stuff attended to... :furious:

slippery bastard driveway and apparently non-non-stick boots.

Not an ideal way to start the day.

Q: Where to buy a replacement gear linkage?
Also these things are really thin but that may be a deliberate design so they are the first to break and not something more significant?

Sorry to hear that mate (snigger snigger).  Good excuse to buy a second bike for parts, oh  and new boots too.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

VladTepes

but these are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned....

Yeah Mate there mite be a few items you'll need (Grips they come with throttle tube complete etc;) for the future so brings the postage down over all.. :)

Nic

How does the linkage get bent like that when all the carnage is on the right hand side? Forgive me if I have no idea but can't you just take it off and straighten it?

KiwiCol

Ouch!   That'll hurt the wallet as well as the pride.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

If the gear linkage bar isn't easily available...

... and if it can't be straightened....

... it's something that any fabrication shop / engineer would knock up in minutes.

You can't normally use threaded bar as the ends need opposite threads so they extend od contract when you do adjustments.

talking about?

Can you elaborate on that please? As in what parts you are talking about (ideally from the mickhone link in this thread earlier)
The throttle is indeed problematic - haven taken a hit on the bars  its like it has one of those throttle locks in place. Low revs. then jerky then high revs and stays wherever its left. Not safe at all.
