Ah bugger and other words denoting annoyance

Nothing mate just saying you mite want a few things for future maintenance as postage for one item can be abit steep, I just mentioned the Grips/Thottle tube as I just got new ones for mine a bit of grease inside the throttle tube when installing it on bars much smoother, Maybe spray a bit of something in cables mite be sticking ..

When bikes off not running and you spin the throttle/grip does it spin back quick and smooth or stops and sticks in spots..

Yeah mine was a bit sticky too so pulled it apart and put a new throttle tube and grips sprayed some lube in cable and grease in throttle tube and its smooth as now spins back fast as..

Good excuse to buy a second bike for parts

14's for breaking aren't normally cheap or common but I have thought about it and do keep an eye out.   If a suitable bike comes up (or most chain drive 16v IL4's, 1980 on) I have the transport, time and room to break them and part them out, both to feed my own addiction and supply others. It's just finding them in my now diminished budget at the moment.

Throttle wise, I'd take the damaged bar end off & see if it works. It's not difficult to bent the bolt holding the bar end on & the bar end rubs on the throttle tube & jams it.

River City near you have the gear linkage but they are selling the whole assembly and aren't cheap.

I may be a bit out of touch with prices, but yes, they seem expensive to me.
Then again everything seems to have gone that way recently I guess.
