Proteous...That was a close one with the cow
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Proteous

Yeah, nearly shat myself! if you listen carefully you can hear my exclamations at the end lol
So if i do stuff all all day and noone sees me do it.. Am i still a lazy git?

Snapey

I knurled & counterbored a bit of aluminium & mounted with a longer screw to the headlight bracket.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

VladTepes

Snapey I like that, but such a  mount produces a video that lacks context - no part of the bike is visible.

And that's a problem because........?????? I disagree with you Mike, you don't need part of the bike in the picture, in fact the less bike in the picture the better.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

VladTepes

Well both have their place, but I don't like videos where it's not always clear if the video was taken from a bike, car, or whatever....

In twisties, sure the bike isn't needed then as its evident from the angles....

I do like the very creative solution of Snapey's though - there are surprisingly few places on our bikes where mounts can be affixed / placed.

There are few places on most bikes I think. I've played with a few different mounts and places on mine, still not 100% happy

RickC

I used on of this with a corresponding ball mounted to the crash bar and one mounted to the old mirror stem mount. It's a well made sturdy mount.

Batkwaka

This is mounted to the bars behind the dash.

May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.

VladTepes

@RickC not sure how that would actually mount to the bike though - any pics?

Hi Michael,

The mount I put up above comes with one 1inchm ball which attaches to your GoPro, you have to buy another 1inch ball and mount on your bike somewhere. I mounted one on the old
mirror mount and another one sandwiches over my crash bars. The clamp holds the GoPro rock steady.

Cheers,
Rick

VladTepes

Thanks @RickC I was going to mount there when I had bar end mirrors, but now I have mirrors back on that mount,
meaning it's hard to find somewhere else...

@Batkwaka yep that's more or less how mine is at the moment but I'd prefer a view with the speedo not in it for, umm, safety ! Yes, safety, we'll go with that !

oh and on your video that bloke escaping from you on the straights.. that's not fair.

I'll go take a pic of mine Mike, you can still use that position (as RickC has done) even with a mirror there.

@VladTepes

The mount fits under the mirror mount & goes out to a ball then whichever way you want to put it. I put mine out front, but it could have just as easily gone straight upwards. Ram ball mount for GoPro.

Try & ignore the pots n other stuff out there. Bit cramped.

Thanks, I just can't quite make out the actual mount to the mirror. Is it attached to the stem? Or to the mirrormount and then the mirror screwed onto the top?
Perhaps if you have a web link to the particular mount I might be able to figure it out... ?
