So the last couple of days I have noticed a hesitation when giving it a handful from low revs in a high gear that clears itself if I roll off and then roll on less enthusiastically, and today I gave it a serve away from the lights and it spluttered and then cleared itself. It starts, idles and runs perfectly when  just riding around normally.I'm thinking the dreaded tea bag or hpf blockage, but not sure if these are the symptoms or not. All advice greatly appreciated

KiwiCol

No brains trust here, however, I'd be checking the fuel filters & the air filter.    Big handful n she coughs / hesitates, is gotta be either fuel or air.  I'd say low fuel - for whatever reason, could be filters, injectors getting blocked, although not likely.  Fuel line not kinked?

Hooli

Aye I'd start with fuel filters too.

steve porter

Yea, feels like fuel, so will do the HP bypass this weekend

I've just started running a magnetic tank bag and my first thought was that it was blocking the tank breather, but yesterday left the bag off and it still did it

steve porter

just lifted the tank and water pissed out of the breather/ overflow hose, it was pinched between the tank and the fuel line, my fault for not routing it properly, hopefully that was the problem, am using it today so will know shortly

steve porter

Bastard, still the same, so picked up the bits on my rounds inc air filter and plugs HP filter and hose, so filter cleaning and bypass time over the weekend

She'll love you for it.
after 40 years of Ducati`s the plan with this one was to not have to touch it

I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Vacuum lines
i`ll have a look, might try the propane method if the filters don`t seem blocked

steve porter

Tea bag was totally covered in rust and shit , but the HP filter doesn't seem restricted  from what I can tell anyway, squirted a whole can of carb clean through it both ways anyway and no crap came out,so will see how it runs next week, pissing rain here all weekend

Hooli

Sounds like you got it in time then.

Hope so, but zero experience with this so won't know until I ride it

@steve porter
This is why I added an inline filter before the teabag .
Helps reduce and crap building up where you can't easily see it .
Hope all is well when you get to try it .
Once summer has relaxed abmnd the rain is less .
only a slightly modified gsx1400
