I like the 6pots. The Sprint GT I had came with the 4pots lots of people swap too, I think the 14 had better brakes when allowing for the different pads fitted.

 :furious: :furious: :furious:    aarrrghhhh.....

Despite bleeding and flushing and bleeding and flushing, I've still got air in the front lines somewhere, lever is not firm enough / what it should be.  Tempted to try a syringe to force fluid (and air) from left caliper to right caliper, as I think the air is trapped after the splitter....
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Yeah Eric. Had same. That last bit of air. Did same as you, bled, vacuumed, lever to bar over nite. Still always just that last bit. Mine magically fixed itself, came out one morn, perfect. Not a good enough result as far as how to fix.  would still like to find better way. Im thinking next time, lift calipers above line joining junction, bleed again. Subaru clutch lines impossible to bleed, as soon as you lift slave above master, takes 2 pumps. Hoping.

I tend to fill the system from the bottom using a syringe on the bleed nipple, then the air rises up on the top of the fluid. The other way I've found works is leave both bleed nipples open & just keep topping the master up, it all flows out then.

I've never understood the tying the lever to the bar thing. As soon as you pull the lever the system is sealed so the air can't get on, with the lever released the system is open to the reservoir so the air can escape. Only way I can see it working is the pressure compresses the air bubble a bit & that helps free it.

Ta Hooli, I did that to fill, started by ensuring the pistons were fully pushed in, minimising the amount of air trapped, and I had tied the lines up above the master, then let fluid come out the end before fitting them to the calipers. Left the bleed nipple open on the lh caliper and let gravity fill the furthest one, then closed that one and did the same on the rh one. I figured this allowed as much of the air out.
Then I used a syringe to draw fluid through the caliper.
Then bled as per normal, alternating l and r, I thought lever was firm enough, but after my commute to work, riding home in 36deg C heat, front went really spongy.  Will now try leaving resevoir closed and push fluid from lh to rh with my syringe, hope it will take the air with it.

Sounds like you did all the right stuff then, they can be an utter bugger.

Doing a lot of not much today.

Sorting out more tools, measuring up my 750 and 1100 frames, organising spares, giving the bikes a wipe over, making a list of the (many!) jobs I need to do, doing the King / 14 and Gen-3's chains and tyre pressures etc etc.  A lazy day with a cold drink and some tunes on.

Eric, would love solve last air prob. Had a read today, just internet stuff, no idea if woeks. One trick was to teflon tape bleeder nipples, stops air getting sucked in while loose. When done, remove tape. Other trick, fit hoses to bleeders, locate top in masterbelow fluid level. No idea how to anchor in there. They then just keep pumping until no bubbles, Sounds feasible. Well find a way, some cars in old days, used to tap every connection with hammer to move air. Well get there.

Flicking the brake lever, pull release repeatedly and lightly tapping the banjo's with a spanner can be effective at getting the last stuck air bubbles to rise to the top, very satisfying when you see bubbles pop their heads up in the MC Reservoir

Steve, glad you appeciate small stuff as i do. Bubbles in Master more exciting than any footy world cup.  :)

Bloody oath, because you can see the fruits of your labour, another thing I do when when starting from an empty system is to start at the bottom with the bleed nipples and work my way up bleeding at the banjo's including the one on the MC, makes a temporary mess, but as long as you are ready with plenty of water it's no big deal and then finish off with the flicking and tapping, 100 % success rate so far

I told the missus I would find a good use for her bike exercise machine.

Well today I did some painting of parts for the Beast today.

Now to sit in/by the Neighbours pool for the rest of today.
I've learnt so much from my mistakes that I'm thinking of making some more ;D
