So I stripped mine to repair gearbox during lockdown and have gone all out in powdercoating frame & shock springs, re-chromed & re- built forks, rear shocks and ignition switch. It's slowly taking shape as I get parts delivered for the engine re- build. Newly painted wheels, Chain & sprockets and Angel GTs will see her sorted for next month.

Yep, we are & have been for some time.  Started at 10% went to 12.5% currently 15%.. Reckon they'll bung it up again shortly.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Goods Sales Tax?

If so it's like our VAT (Value Added Tax) which is already 20% over here.

I seem to recall a tip from years ago of bending the springs & putting washers or coins between the coils. Wrap it in tape so they can't fall out & the spring stays longer to refit it.

I don't get your chain adjustment thing though, it's just as easy on the side stand. Especially as the measurements are given with the weight of the bike on the rear suspension.

You cannot rely on the markings on any bike with a swing arm that flexes IMHO  :whistling: :whistling:

I use verniers and measure the gap in front of the axle and do it loose and tight then use the mean average. I want about 20mm of movement in the chain when bike has no rider weight on it.  :hat: :hat:

Agreed on the vernier, but that makes no difference that it's just as easy to do on the side stand.

After year and a half of running tl1000s front end with 4-pot tokicos, today I swapped them for nissin calipers from '91 gsxr750. That is best brakes upgrade so far! Much better feel on lever now with same stopping power. Still running oem gsx master cylinder.

Not today but yesterday, checked the fuel pump flow rate & found that it was delivering approx. 800ml/30 seconds, manual says it should be approx. 1100ml/30 seconds, to be expected I suppose as the bike is almost 19 years old, could hear the pump starting to struggle after about 15 seconds

Anyway I decided to strip the pump out of the tank and clean the filter, as expected the tea bag filter was spotless as I replaced it last year however the main HP filter was a different story, after flushing with two cans of carb cleaner the result of what came out is shown in the pics and I doubt it is fully clean now. Reassembled everything and checked the flow rate again, although the flow rate didn't improve much if anything at all after cleaning the filter the pump seemed to be running a lot smoother and the bike started much better and seemed to idle much smoother

Next weekend I'm going to remove the additional external LP filter fitted to the pump feed line to see if that improves things as I have a feeling that is possibly restricting the flow rate & I'm also considering doing the external HP filter conversion, just a bit concerned about doing this after seeing how much muck the in tank filter war harboring in side it but there is no chance I am paying £150 - £200 for a new Suzuki Filter - If anyone has any thoughts or opinions on this I would be interested to know?

I tend to just cough up for the high pressure filter, they seem to last about 50k so it doesn't work out too bad for the mileage.

Andre

Reverse cleaned my HP filter but didn't have much gunk in it. Flow improved by 50-100 ml (from 950 to 1050), fuel pressure 41 psi. Hooked scope with current clamp on it and the waveform/values showed that pump had had it. New pump from ebay (Quantum HFP-384-U from Highflowfuel.com) now gives 1450 ml/30sec and 45 psi pressure.

We sure get lots of high pressure fuel filter posts. Most know my answer but not going there this time. For Aussies, if want to replace high filter as standard, Mick Hone sells for $461. As Hooli says, not bad value for a lot of ks. After reading so many posts about this, starting to think our fuel in Oz is cleaner than you northern blokes. Our 95 & 98 both have good cleaners in them. All i use. The Wynns cleaner additive i use is amazing, 250ml bottle will soak up to 3 litres of water. Have seen a demo at work. Its a workshop available only product, retail shop stuff not the same. Guess im lucky to be able to get it. Just my way, tank is spotless inside.

Kiwifruit

My tank is mint inside, but then most of our fuel is tax so no room for those nasty impurities.

I do try and keep it topped up, now and again will put a tank full of 98 through it.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎
