@Del
Glad you finally got to the bottom of this .
Just need lockdown to end to get out and try it or take it to work.

Youre a patient man Del, can tell that by your paint jobs. Glad Bandit is good.

Well running out of things to do - been needing to do a fork seal for ages - got the new fork bottoms stripped and painted metallic black - gathered a few titanium parts and getting it all back together

one done and one to go

3 years from a battery is pretty good in my experience.  My K3 has got a yellow Yuasa in it, replaced it last  year from an old black motobatt iirc.
never any trouble.  I stay away from lithium units.

I'd be pissed off with just 3 years. The original batt in my K2 lasted till about 2012, the replacement has been in since then.

I put the front end back on after a strip down to put on the repainted forkbottoms and new fork seals as well as a few goodies Ive been squirriling away over the past few months - all done rolled it out thegarage and the fooker wouldnt start

turned out one of the terminals on the clutch switch had broken - ach well easy fix

still a bonniee looking beastie if I dont say so myself

So having (almost) run out of all those jobs I've been meaning to do for a long time, I decided that even though in the longer run it will be a waste of time (as, as soon as we are allowed out, I'll be getting it grubby again) it was time to finish the restore the Trumpet to showroom condition - or as near as I could get it after 4 years of ownership. Bike was already very clean anyway (I do try to keep it that way), but for an Adventure bike, the back end has some incredibly hard places to get at when it all together. So out with the sockets and spanners and 1 hour later the rear end was all over the man-cave.  4 hours later every bit of it polished to spec and then about another hour to bolt it all back together. Given I did the front end when I had that all down in bits a few weeks ago to tidy up the driving light wiring. All looks lovely now, just a shame that I can't ride it right now  :bugga:
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

You cannot beat a really good clean mate - Im verging on removing the lump from the 14 to repaint the engine for a while to get to a level Im happy with but need another bike to use - well not at the present but maybe in the neat future

@Del did that a couple of times when I had my 14 buddy, more to clean the frame and parts where it was difficult to clean - but she's a heavy old lump to get out buddy. Did respray a complete engine once for Grumpy using PJ1 if I recall correctly - have to say it cones up really beautiful so much better than standard. Bit of masking on the cam covers of course having to redo the edges of the cylinder, but very satisfying nevertheless. We put it on a small trolley and sprayed it on a warm afternoon outside.

Now's the time to do it Del either that or a winter job mate. You'll curse doing it, but be really happy with the results.

Changed the oil - Castrol Power 1- the bike on the level and oil was at the top mark and I had only put 4Ltr in WTF ???? I looked at the container and definitely 4 l litres? oh F**k forgot the filter !! no harm done I think its the 7 weeks in lockdown not mixing with other humans !!  :bugga:

I'm pretty sure you can remove the filter without draining the oil, as it's above the level of the sump.

Ordered a LED tailight assembly, clear lens.  Now to wait 5 months for delivery.....
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.
