I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Hope the blast and re-checks sort it Eric.

Have you considered trying not to think about it for a few days? I say this because inspiration sometimes comes when we're not consciously thinking about the problem - that lightbulb moment.

I believe you will sort this..your posts suggest you have the necessary knowledge and tenacity  :hat:

Thanks Pommeroy, yes, I don't let it get to me, its annoying, but its still just a machine, so its fixable.  Waiting for the new stator it sat patiently on the hoist for a few weeks, I tidied up a few other bits whilst there, and I have the Bavarian Mistress to keep me entertained as well.

Not to mention the endless list of house maintenance that the good lady wife keeps dreaming up, usually starts with " I was thinking...."

Already waaay better than when this first happened, and was a good excuse to check all the other sensors as well.

I think I've discovered the ABS fault on Snotter. Had another quick look around when I got home from work last night & noticed the wire to the front sensor has managed to get trapped & cut near the bottom yoke. Not really sure how as it doesn't get very close to anything but it's damaged there & obviously a broken sensor lead will cause a fault. It's just two normal wires inside so I'll cut it & solder it back together soon & see if that fixes things. I'll tie it up better too, to ensure it can't get trapped again.

No idea why I didn't spot that when I looked over the cabling the other day, but I've found it now.

Now possibly fixed in my lunch break, it's not incredibly neat as to get the cable out you need to take half the bike apart & I didn't want to do that.

The broken wire

Cut trimmed & ready to rejoin

Fixed & tied up to prevent it catching anywhere again

If I go to MAG night later I'll find out if it works as the light never goes out till 6mph.

I'd love to know how it happened, as I know when it broke. I dropped off a kerb outside a mate's house, but the yokes don't move compared to the tupperware or anything (I know the steering bearings are good etc). Bloody bikes.

I'll prove the fix shortly as the pub is calling...

Hooli

Success!

The light goes out as it should once moving, so fixed. I like cheap fixes!

Hooli

Oh & I also found a rebound adjuster on the rear suspension which was set to max. It's now on half & the ride is much nicer.

Cosmic forces are flowing around you Hooli.   ;)

Thought I'd spare a few minutes on the poor ole Black today.  She's now got a full tank (albeit with stabiliser in it . . .) & the front rotors have been cleaned along with the calipers & pads.  She's running good, but I'm no longer comfortable on it, much prefer the arrangement on the R3GT.

Gave it a bit of a clean, nothing over the top, just a wee bit of attention & lubed the chain.  She comes up alright for a pic, shame she's not getting any use these days.  Maybe one day someone will take her off my hands, be a shame to break it for parts.

This side has the scratches on the tank - bit hard to see but they're there

Col you should post pics of you on both bikes to give some perspective on the ergonomics of them.
It's funny how you've probably loved both your GSX's for years, then along comes a new mistress and your life changes 😱

A lot like me with the BMW RT's I've owned. My Suzuki is my longest owned continuously vehicle and I don't think I'll ever part with it for that reason. 🙏

Took the R3GT out for a bit of a spin this avo, sorting out the insta360 ace pro 2 for loop recording.  Tried to put a link up for a couple of 1 minute videos, but it didn't work.  Will see if I can get it.
