The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

T250

Decided to overhaul a set of 4 pots and put them back on again, first caliper came apart easily and the pistons moved freely, so just regreased and put back together. The other caliper...had a nightmare getting the stuck pistons out, strange as both calipers were put away and working fine at the time, anyway new seals and all back together. 4 pots are so much easier to bleed up than the 6's, personally I prefer the 4's and they do seem to have more bite, not as blingy as the 6's though.

Road up to Chepstow ( 80 mile round trip ) to meet Mick ( Mick_J ) for a coffee and for him to check some measurements to help sort repairing his 14

Blimey Notty, you've done your annual mileage early this year!

Good to meet you Notty and thanks for your help.  I'm now chasing the insurance/holding company for compo.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

I doubt anyone remembers but someone on here told us what metal bushes to order to fix the floppy gearshift as the original nylon bushes wore. Well I ordered some last year & finally fitted them today.

They're a bit tight to push in, I used water pump pliers working side to side as I didn't want to remove the lever from the bike. They went in fine with a bit of care. Then a gentle tap from a hammer helped it slide back onto the pivot, once on it's free & moves fine with sod all play compared to before. I've not test ridden it yet but I know it'll make the box feel like new again.

Have a couple of very unexciting pics.

As you can see the old bushes broke being removed as they'd gone brittle, but they came out fine by digging at them with a small screwdriver.

The lever with no bushes in, yes the rubber on the footpeg is getting to the point it needs replacing too. I'm starting to notice it as I ride. You can't rush these things though.

Then I spent a couple of hours cleaning up bits for rebuilding Stroppy. I've even got the filter number off the old aftermarket kit I had fitted to know what to order to replace it too.

I think it was André who recommended it.

Yep, it was Andre.  Think Grog got some as well.

So update on the rough running, replaced led flasher relay, bike ran OK, well, at least it started.  Turns out fuel in the tank is or is going off. Still smells like petrol but it's got a milky tinge to it. So drained the tank, flushed out my remote hp filter, thr bypassed pump hp filter, all fuel lines and will need a new lp in line filter. Cranked the engine a decent while to try to get fuel out of the injector rail.  Still cleaning out the sludge from the bottom of the tank today, luckily no corrosion yet.

Yeah, fitted to mine.Takes all the slop out of gear lever. Cheap, easy, good little mod. Eric, you mustve got a really crook tank of fuel😡

Kiwifruit

That's a bastard about the fuel Eric. It's never good to get a problem from someone else's incompetence.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Eric GSX1400K3

Will post a picture of what came out of the tank shortly

I think there's room with the tank off to undo the two big JIS screws at the end of the fuel rail & pull of it off the injectors, it'll empty that way & there's not much left in the injectors afterwards. I think you'd get the injectors out too if you wanted, just not sure there's room for the inner two.
