mjgt, youre right mate, had forgotten. gs 1000 and gsx1100 in early 80s, same prob. cant really remember but think i just did bolts up on both. not sure. i wouldve loctited , even back then. probably more pro active then than now. my little stable was gs1000g, gsx1100ex and ducati darmah. still love them all.
You can have this problem with any starter clutch engine even seen it on a Z900. When I got the Kat the taper was scored I tried loctite on shaft and bolt held up for a while, I ended up grub screwing it into shaft, no problem since.

Where did you that idea from. What's with the tyre change! You had Angel's on the 14, I had old PR2 on the front of XJR and Angel on back.

Your my Angel Jeff   :salute:

They had Metzelers on the hire bikes at Eastern Creek and felt really good. Thought I would try them on 14.

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Fitted the Tokico 4 pot calipers and new pads this afternoon.
Gave the bike a good coat of ACF50 too, ready for when I start riding again mid Jan.
I've got a pair of horns coming too, so another job to sort while I'm off work recovering from my Op :imrgreen:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

So managed to get into the freezing cave today, got all the bits off ready for wrapping.
Did a bit of wet and dry on some imperfections so the vinyl will go on nice and flat.
Anyone got any tips for extracting the last bit of petrol now the tank is off??

She looks a bit sad now! Like a bride on her wedding day before the make up girl arrives 😀

I've never managed to get the last bit of petrol out except by putting the tank in hot sunlight so it evaporates. Good luck with that currently.

Red Biker

Thanks Hooli
I've been advised to remove the braided pipe and it will come out of there👍
Looking at this guys bike I'm inclined to follow his every word!

Charlie freeman used to take tank of and slot it onto the tail pipe of a plastic pig,I know this because he did it with my rd250 tank which needed a bit of welding on the seam,
