Mrg do you have insurance ?  If so l would have thought that amount of damage would have justified a claim, presumably you would have to make good any damage to the van.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Ye ditto as everyone else has said get better soon

That's a real pisser Mrg, never good to see a bike hit the road especially a 1400 but as long as you are okay and able to get it back on the road you should end up with a happy ending.  Good luck with the insurance and the rebuild.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Good to hear you're OK mjgt, hope you get the bike sorted.
Looking on the positive side that fork dust seal looks like it was due for replacement  :onya:

Sorry to hear about this Mrg. I`ll assume it was M20 or M2.......both death traps, from being the best motorways in the country a few years ago. Why both roads attract so many tw4ts on four wheels (and more) is beyond me. Anyhow, at least you walked (or hobbled) away from it.

Unfortunately, and I say it reluctantly `cause it costs us all in insurance at the end of the day, you have to `play the game` in this day and age, so, firstly, ensure you register this with your GP. Follow it up when the pain starts. After a few months you`ll get a couple of Grand which will go nicely towards another bike, or at least finance your repairs. Secondly, if your beloved insurance company decide on a Cat write-off, never ever accept their first financial settlement offer. Always however, accept their second.

Did you have a helmet cam by any chance?

Anyhow, all the very best with getting everything sorted  :onya:

Hooli

I finally got the news my strumpet's oil cooler will be ready tomorrow, four weeks after I was told it'd be done in a week. So I'll go get it sat morning & be on the road by the evening, if I can remember how all the fairing goes together...

DP1400

Nice one Hooli, great news. Good timing too as the weather should be good for a run out on Sat evening. Keep us posted

That is sad Mrg, If it has little sentimental value, buy it and part it and get another - the issue like cars, is once they have been in a good wallop other issue arise later on - I'm glad you can out of it ok!
I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

Hi guys
Sad day yesterday had a off on the bike in line of moving traffic on the motorway 65 mph behind a tall van and a big truck to my left. Then some twat in front of the van three car in front of him had a coming together bounced off each other this caused a massive sudden stop and yep even with150 yards gap there was no we're to go but end up as a van sticker  so I've got neck pain but ok ribs took a hit but ok and right ankle nice deep slide road rash but ok  bike

Looking to get front forks set .... My bottoms are good but the tube into the trees are bent
Right hand light controls at the part are road rushed
Throttle housing and throttle grip
Handle bars but not original rentals
Rear back fin housing
Right hand crash bars the big set type  not
Front mud guard ( deep blue if possible)
That's my shopping list as far as I can see at the moment.
I've got to wait for the inspection then for then to tell me how much they will offer me   MCE only offer payment or buy back  not a repair option  so I'd be looking to get any of the parts in a few weeks guys cheers   :onya:

In my experience (unfortunately) the frame will be bent. With that big a hit through the steering stem, it's just a transfer of the energy in most cases. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the bike will handle like new afterwards if that's a positive.  :whatever: :whatever:

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Hooli

I put the Strumpet back together after collecting the parts  and as nothing leaked, took it for a short test run and ended up doing 100 miles or so.

Hope it lives to be as good as your 14 Hooli. I saw a blue Daytona last week, i know nothing about Triumph except Rocket. It looked good. I do like new Speed Triple. Mate trying to buy, no stock in Oz.
