That's a terrible picture Col. Hard to believe one frogwit had wrecked the world.

drove 1016km towing our caravan this weekend, paying AUD2.54 to AUD2.44 for 98RON.  Not fun any longer when filling the main tank and 2 jerry cans.  Will be eating beans for a while.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Wife and I went away couple of weeks ago in our caravan. We are 2700kg tare plus 240L water so pretty much 3T empty that I tow with our 2016 Ranger. Show it a hill and it drinks diesel, like 18L per 100km. Worried that gas stations might run out of diesel I filled a spare 20L Jerry can to take with us and that was over $70. Seen diesel here at $4.05L
We enjoy our caravan, bought a 2022 Red Centre statutory right off. Was struck by lightning and shipped it here. I like the Aussie vans.

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I had a Crewman that also like fuel, I could get that to 22L/100K towing the boat no worries!  Long gone now though, the Crewman, not the boat.

There's a trick for the hills Col, if you put blinkers over the headlights, it can't see the hill coming & goes up no worries.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

We bought a Crusader 17ft brand new after a lot of research. Best composite van you can get, floor, walls and ceiling all 40 or 50mm fibreglass composite with polystyrene fill. Warm, sound deadening and 20% lighter for a same sized std van.  Off road X Country spec for extra ground clearance. About 2700kg all up fully loaded. Tow vehicle is a 2023 Defender P400SE.  Straight 6 petrol.
We saw 22l/100km, average for the 1016km round trip was 18.8l/100km. Hills are effortless, although our old D4 SDV6 diesel had more torque, the P400 is no slouch either.

We have been vanning since 2005, owned 4 vans & 5 vehicles in that time. The latest will be our last, 20'6 Masterpiece Optimum & Chev 2500. No issues with weights / payload fuel when towing ranges from 18 / 22 litres per 100.
