I wear Shoei as I found the cheaper helmets don't fit me properly & the foam collapsed within a few months. All depends on your head though, if it fits, it fits.

Shoei xs11 for me . I bought it for a bargain as it was end of line stock. It fits like a glove .The only downside is some wind whistle under my ears ,I have a decent set of earplugs that sort that out. Removable and replaceable innards. Had it 3yrs now.

Quote from: Kiwifruit on Wednesday, 19 November  2025, 05:13 AMI'm looking for a new helmet. Shoei GT Air 3 is my preference. At between $1100 and $1500 they are a bit pricey. So why not buy a Shoei X15 from AliExpress for $207.80 or Shoei Z8 for $165.41, maybe a Shoei X- Spirit 3 for $171.41. Are these all fakes ? Interested in your thoughts.
I have the GT Air II, nice lid, mine was around 850-900 AUD because I didn't get the fancy painted ones, just basic blue and black.  Does the GT Air III also have the Sena fitment spots? I like my Sena and would be shame to leave it on the shelf when changing to another helmet brand

Yes, the gt 3 does have Sena capability but the gt 2 system won't fit the 3

Cool, the bearing puller set arrived, very pleased with it.  Also brought some new boots, need size 50 or more.  Got some EU48's at the moment and they're just too tight to get on now. Ordered some SiDi Performer boots online, in a 50EU, so hope they fit else they'll be going back

Dainese Smart Jacket with integrated airbag. Black Friday sale price too good to ignore. My first foray into airbag jackets.

This replaces an Alpinestars leather jacket I've had for 20 years. It was getting tired and after my accident earlier this year I've become much more conscious of protection. The quality of the old Astars jacket leather leaves current offerings for dead but the armour is nothing more than shaped foam unfortunately.

New adventure gear is next. My brand new Leatt kit had to be cut off by emergency services unfortunately.

Halfraud's own LED headlight bulbs for snotbox. The standard lights were good enough except when modern cars came the other way & I couldn't see the road at all, so I thought I'd spoil it as it's my winter bike so goes out in the dark a lot.

They look a lot better in the garage & obviously whiter compared to the normal H4s as you can see in the pic where I'd only changed one to compare them.

Oh & not anything I've bought but I've started skimming adverts for 14s, looking for something cheap but easy to sort out as I want it. My basic list is 'still has a rear mudguard, not rotten and preferably K5 onwards with twin cans'. Seem some just under £3k that appear to match my plan, not too bothered about the extra shyte nailed to them as that can come off & go on ebay to fund other things.

I know how I'll want it to end up, but I'm not rushing to buy owt yet. Whatever I get is likely to turn up & come apart to get sorted out before it sees any daylight. The next one will be in a slower colour once done too as I'm getting old & don't want the same bike again.

I've been watching local sales and prices for a while.
I'm still undecided on if to spend the time, money and effort on the one I have (it needs quite a bit) or to just buy another, swap the good stuff over and sell off what I don't need. I don't need to rush into anything so I'll keep an eye on sales in case the right bike turns up while in thinking about it.

Yeah I was surprised to see some cheaper ones about that don't look like they've been used as boat anchors. Awful colour accessories & such though, but I can fix that sort of rubbish easily as I'd strip it down & do everything most people don't bother with so it rides right as soon as it goes out.

freight to the uk might be a bit more than the bike, but it looks decent

I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

That's the sort of thing I had in mind. Location isn't ideal, but the minor corrosion, awful mirrors and hatchet job on the rear guard are an easy fix at that price. The colour and year is the same as mine which I like.

Just ordered a new winter jacket, to try on but how on earth, are you supposed to know what size you need.  :whatever:

I have Jackets from Large through to 10XL that all, fit.

Isn't it time, they standardised things. Thought that was why, we all went decimal.  :rofl2:  :happy1:

I'm a big fan of RST gear. I've got a winter jacket that is many seasons old and still usable. Good quality and standard sizing across their range. Once you find your size it's same throughout the years and range.
There's more expensive gear out there but I'm a tight bastard 🙄

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

I tried two different Alpinestars jackets over the weekend. Both 2XL. One was too big, the other I couldn't get both shoulders in

Madness isn't it!  The sizing is all up the shute.  :furious:

My new boots arrived today, size EU 50. too damn small!!     I have EU 48's atm & they're getting too tight to put on, so went bigger but they're about the same as my old EU48's.  Cost me $30 to ship them back!   Now looking at some EU 52's from Germany, but reckon they'll probably be too big & shipping is $60 odd each way.

Might have to just wear flip flops . . . . :happy1:   yeah, or not.
