Brilliant stuff Hooli, not a job i could do. My old man used to amaze me, rewired every reco he did, bikes n cars. He did lots. Today i was my own labourer, got lots done. Was much easier 30 yrs ago, age sure doesnt help.

I smoked 2.5 kg of pork neck. It took 9.5 hours. Not actual fast food.

Thinking about going digital and adding a tilt angle gauge.

Maybe a high speed pump for shifting the bilge water around to compensate for the angles? or is that already fitted?
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

All done now.

My mate doesn't do electrics either so he's chuffed to bits it's back on the road. I'm slightly miffed as the charge light isn't working, it's wired according the manual - switched live from the ignition, to the lamp & then to the exciter coil on the alt. The charging circuit works & there is continuity all the way but the lamp isn't working.

I don't think the lamp has blown as it's got continuity, but it was getting dark so I never put 12v across it to check.

Still it's rather satisfying to test everything & not else had an issue, it's almost like I know what I'm doing at times.

It gets very little water in the bilge Col. It has mid and aft fitted. Also has trim tabs to help get on plane quicker. Ordering a hydrofoil from Oz just to trim it better of the Z drive.

My Hilux is 2 years old today.
Only 31,025K's / 19,278 miles so far.

For cheap basic motoring I'm quite happy with it.

2 years of no maintenance other than a cheap fixed price service every 6 months and some cheap low grade fuel once a week.

I still use the Rav-4 if I'm out with the wife or going on longer drives but I don't mind driving it day to day and it's useful to have.

I did consider Toyota's offer of trading it in but it's just more money on something I don't really need or that I'm not that interested in.

I dive it into work each day and jump into brand new ones. Mine really hasn't aged over 2 years with it's low mileage.

Today I freaked out my dentist.

I was having a back tooth removed and during the injections and prep for it's removal I passed out. He said I was only out for a minute but he looked a bit stressed when I came around. I was not supposed to be knocked out.

I felt fine, was a bit wobbly on my feet on the way out afterwards but not a big deal.

He gave me a prescription for some great pain killers and a note to claim sick pay if I didn't want to return to work and the bill was smaller than I was expecting too.

I don't really recommend it but it kept the day interesting.

That sounds like a reaction to the local anesthetic..
Something similar once happened to me when I was having a Toe nail removed...

But I never did give up the secrets of GSX1400 longevity..
I'm a hero !!

I gave my 14 it's 140k service, washed it! & covered it on ACF50, it doesn't need cleaning till about April (for the MOT) now. Then took it for a short test run in the rain to check all is still ok.

It's a Saturday afternoon. It's 4pm.

So far today I have fed the dog, fed the hens, lay on the sofa eating ice cream, and watched Pawn Stars, Gas Monkey Garage, outback Opal Hunters and Outback Gold Hunters. I intend to be a lazy slob for the rest of the day.

Monday is a public hol here, I have booked Tuesday and Weds off work as I need to use up some RDO's. Hopefully there will be bike rides and house painting done in this time.

I just feel drained, tired, and have no motivation.   I'm a bit over getting older with health issues and getting up at 3:15am for work.  I need to be more motivated to aim for an end date and get out of here.

I had my hospital appointment to see a consultant regarding the rapidly worsening Arthritis in both my thumbs...Not really a very good outcome if I'm totally honest.
Option one is a Cortisone injection in both hands to see if it helps and gives me any pain relief. The second option is an operation on both hands to shave bone from the Trapezium and try and build the joint a bit using cartilage removed from elsewhere. This would be done one hand at a time. Six weeks in plaster post op and then lots of physio to try and get the hand working again.

With my shoulder joints going the same way along with my lower spine and hips, the future isn't looking too good at the moment :furious:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Froudy, at 55 my arthritis was wrecking me. I refuse any operations. My hands were so bad, not good for a mechanic. 9 yrs later, magnesium has been my friend, now as good as new. Totally no pain. Just a thought.
