I agree Tony, shouldnt split at 5 yrs. I like Pirelli bike tyres but posted b4, fitted same brand to car, one fell to pieces at 40ks. They blamed fitting, wouldnt replace. I fitted them. Yeah, im good at fitting tyres. Lost a lot of faith in Pirelli then. I still like and use Angels.

Drove some 340km with overhauled forks with Wilbers springs. Strange feeling when your front end don't dive between gear change  made me wonder does it also affect gear changing because it was smoother than before. Or maybe the hot weather (on a Finnish scale) make's 14 run smooth... How do you guys in Rooland drive in 30+ Celsius, just wondering. It's not fun anymore. :confused1:

Depends on how many +'s. Riding in 30c is OK but anything over 35 is getting warm although if you're moving it's not so bad. Peak hour traffic in that heat isn't the best.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Not Rooland here, but my neighbor town broke the German record on Wednesday with 40.5°. Only lasted 24 hours and 15 places broke that record. New record holder reached 42.6.

Rode at 34° on Tuesday which was ok wearing kevlar jeans and white mesh jacket. I have a white helmet as well.

Waiting for next week as we should have dry mid 20s which is perfect imo.

28-32°c down through England yesterday  today 35°c + through Belgium
5hey say a thunderstorm later hopefully it cools to normal summer temperature then of a nice Scottish 18 or 19° c
The beer is cold and aldi has I've for the rum later  so all 8n 5he world is good (except for the Kennedy tunnel on the Antwerp bypass as that'll never be ok)

Seems that Europe is getting some of that, excuse me, global warming stuff. Just finished another 300km in 30 degrees. I need a cold one. By cold I don't mean that stuff in the pic. :whistling:

Cleaned some winter grime off the shed. It didn't come out great as I was sliding off the greasy roof! .... and I didn't want to use chemicals as the water flows straight into the hen pen.   It'll do for now, but it's still in my to-do list.

Yesterday now but I decided after a more annoying than normal week at work I'd book next week off.

Heading north today, going to a car/bike show a mate helps run tomorrow at Glenisla, just south of the Caringorns. Then I'll make it up as I go along around Scotland or the islands.

Give me a shout when your in the area buddy @Hooli
I'm off next week so have a bit of free time to catch up with you.

Mister Fishfinger

I got my XS1100 project running today and rode it round the garden. I have had the engine going a few times, but this is the first time it has moved under its own power.

The only issue was with the throttle cable routing. If you turn the bars too far to the right the engine speed shoots up, so I decided anticlockwise laps of the garden would be safest for now till I figure out the cable.

The tank and bodywork is out for painting, it also needs new shocks and some sort of refinishing of the exhaust (maybe black paint for now). Then it's ready to rock and roll.

Andre

Always nice when the project is so far that it can roll under its own power :onya:
