It may be false but I heard that the centre stand has caused fatalities due to the centre stand 'digging in'. The guys in other thread scraping engine casing would have the stand removed??

My 14 never came with a stand, but my bikes that did soon had them removed.

I used to keep them around the shed, and I'd attach a bolt (slightly thinner than stock)
to the stand with a length of wire so I never had to look for it.

Very easy to put the stand in place and slot in a loose bolt.
All the benefit of a centre stand at home but pull the bolt out and remove it to ride.
Now I just use paddock stands instead.

i like having both stands.

Looking at this main stand 'Digging' in issue, I think we can say it would certainly have to be a left hander?
And unless its not fitted correctly I just can't see it, studying the picture below, it looks like the foot pegs and engine cases would touch first and I can't picture how the stand would do anything other than 'scrape along?

Size 10.5 UK feet here, so dunno what it is. I like to have my toes on the pegs & when I do my heel always hits the centre stand.

Was just about to say the exact same thing Hooli.

...... instructor told us all "don't ride paddlefoot"
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

So we're saying that lot up there don't sit on their bikes properly?

I'll vote for that  :whistling:

I'd have to say I ride with the centre of the boot on the peg, more comfortable that way for long legs. I do sometimes ride with the toe of the boot in the pegs, but only when I've got lots of tight twisties ahead n get sick of dragging me foot.
So yeah, paddlefoot maybe, but couldn't ride any other way for long.

Red wheels work :)

I cant have the centre-stand on mine due to full Akra system - which is a shame as I too really like having a centre-stand for chain cleaning/lubrication.

However, I'd rather have the Akra fitted than the centre-stand if it came to a choice !
