Thanks mate it is a nightmare so far but i will take it to my mechanic and spend what it will take to make it road worthy hopefully  be easy on the pocket (not)
In the meantime ive written to the owner of the shop that conned me to beg for a deal to get my bandit back but lets see what happens if its under 2k then i will buy it back

If you don't mind me asking was it super cheap, to swop a clean bandit and vstrom for it I can't imagine it was was. When I was looking at the same time as you prices varied from dealers for a 2002 cat d at £4500 going up to £7000 for 8000 mile super clean 2007.
Mine was £5200 at 24500 miles.
Did you see the bike in the flesh before you purchased it

Mate, id be spending on a lawyer, all that corrosion, just gonna keep finding more. Not a project id take on. Just too much work, far from easy work, hard enough keeping a 14 good but to comeback from that, too much money and effort.Looks like its been dumped in the ocean. Sorry to be harsh but id find another bike.

Cant afford anymore than what i spent . If i5s nit right then i quit. Im on a pittahce wofk oension and hafe to wait another 5 years before i get my state pension. Ive nit git a pot to piss in .

You seem to have done the same as me, retired early. I have to be careful not to overspend in any one month.
The bike, it will take longer but it will be worth it in the end. Have a look at Black Widow Exhausts, ( website and ebay)they do a complete system for the 1400.
Plenty of parts out there if you look.
