About 15 years ago the gear lever on my Speedtriple snapped off so I drilled a hole in the body of the lever, tapped it and used a bolt with a washer on it to keep the rubber bit in place.  Last year it went again, this time the bolt snapped while I was out riding.  I pulled the rubber bit off as it had held on with the smallest bit of metal and had to ride home using the gear lever without the sticky out bit (that's a technical term if you're not familiar with the correct terminology).  Got home drilled out the end of the bolt, re-tapped it and used another bolt and my original rubber to repair it again, should be good enough for another 14 years.

Hooli

Obviously not taken today, but the last pic of me on my 14 before it got stolen by scum.

It wasn't on the photographer's website but I messaged him yesterday & he found it. He hadn't posted it as it's slightly out of focus, still damn cool though so I've bought it as it makes me laugh remembering doing it.

A while back my mate was doing that on a straight road just cos he could, I didn't want to be out staged so I overtook him riding side saddle.  Things we do for a bit of fun.

Fitted heated grips and then because the tank was off I "de pair valved" her..
Mainly to make less clutter in that area..
Tickover is definitely smoother though..

Removed front callipers after today's ride, I had less than perfect brake feel.  Pulling the lever in with the callipers off the discs, on the rhs unit the 3 pistons on the inside did not move and in the lhs unit, 1 piston on the outside did not move.  Time for a rebuild.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

ARH

New boots (Bridgstone S22's) fitted and S57 (Austrian version of MOT) done on Friday... drove back in heavy rain.  Not a smart move... had some buttock clenching moments I can tell you!
Bike cleaned up and out on Sunday scrubbing in the new tyres... all is now well with the world

Lookin good ARH. S22 get great reviews. Test on them, MT09, says 4 th ks from rear. Lets hope they are wrong. Never a Bridgestone liker but will give anything a go. I expect 4x that mileage from Angels. Maybe not as sticky but good for me.

First wash of the 14 under my ownership today.

Yesterday headed down to Bowral with my wife to check out the Tulip festival (approx 250km round trip). Enjoyed the 14 on the motorway, a much more relaxed ride than the SV was in those conditions (sitting north of 5.5k rpm at just under the speed limit VS the 14 sitting at just north of 3k rpm :)

Was pleasantly surprised by the amount and 'quality' of wind. First naked bike, so not sure what to expect.

Bought a set of Stedi universal indicators.

https://www.stedi.com.au/dynamic-led-motorcycle-indicator-light.html?queryID=aa5eaf76428069c179bd44391ac72bef&objectID=1950&indexName=m2prod_default_products

The cheapy chinesium ones have started to fail, not the lights, but the rubber surrounds where they grip the fastener.

Will post a pix up once fitted.

I put new bar end mirrors on and had the bike serviced and got him to put new braided brake and clutch lines on. Tried to upload photo's but it doesn't like it when I use my phone.

Tally

My new indicators arrived today £16.99 off eBay, just typed in Kinstecks flowing motorcycle indicators and up they popped will put them on  after I've hammerited the license plate holder so it doesn't rust and fall apart. They look remarkably like those stedi  ones @Stevel3  :onya:

Tally

Ooops I should really pay attention to who I'm replying to @Eric GSX1400K3  :onya:, sorry @Stevel3

KiwiCol

Just a slight difference in the LED's, Tally, yours appear to be 315 side emitting & Eric's are 355 side emitting, Eric's may be brighter?  or just a newer version LED.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎
